    4+ start read

4.5 stars. Don't let the 2016 reprint date fool you; this story takes place in the 1970s and 1980s when there was no email or cell phones... aviator glasses were called "pilot sunglasses", clip-on earrings were a thing, and Michelle Pfeiffer and Meg Ryan were "it" girls. The actual story is good and it was a quick read given the 700+ pages. However, I can't rate it perfectly because it was happily-ever-after predictable, and Matthew's Farrel's character kept reminding me of Richard Lewis from Pretty Woman.
