    An absorbing read

I really enjoyed this novel! It did have a bit of a slow start, but the writing flowed, and the further I got into the book, the harder it was to put down, and I found myself reading for long stretches in my eagerness to see what would happen next. Reading this book, I would never have guessed that it's the author's first novel. Her writing is descriptive and expressive, and the plot is well thought out and flows nicely. Some of my favorite turns of phrase in the novel are: "Several of the iris in front of Drake Antiques were in full bloom, as silky and sweet-smelling as scarves gracing the necks of fashionable jazz age ladies," "A small shudder did a centipede's dance up Dana's back," and "A frosty look rimed her eyes and mouth." This is a fun, absorbing read, and I highly recommend it. After reading the novel, I read the prequel short story (When the Wolf Comes) and enjoyed it thoroughly as well. It was nice to learn about what Dana's life was like while she was still alive.

    Suspenseful

Great book. Loved the twists and turns the story took. Interesting characters. Must read to find out what happens to them.

    Passing through

Passing through This book was one of the best books I have read this year. Although, I have to say the beginning a little slow. However, that being said, once I got pass that.I didn't want to put the book down. I found myself reading it into the early hours of the morning because I had to know what happened. I cried, laughed, cried some more, just all around found the book very enjoyable and not like others of its kind. And have already reread it. I'm hopeful for future novels by this author.

    A fun mystery novel

Jenny Sundstedt has created a mystery with interesting characters and a clever plot twist at the end. She has a gift for crafting descriptive passages that stick with you. All in all, a fun read. I found myself rooting for the protagonist.

    Romantic and Suspenseful

I really enjoyed this read. The story has memorable characters arrayed around a provocative dilemma. The themes of letting go, facing the unknown, and transformation are laced through with a poignant sense of loss, longing and sacrifice. The scenes move crisply along, as Dana's predicament unfolds with romantic suspense. I found the ending surprising and very satisfying. I recommend it!
