    A bit of a tease

90 pages of anticipation without any consummation. I like the premise, but the story doesn't progress. The principals keep talking about how uncontrollable their passion is, and yet they continue to control it for some reason. And now (2017) Part One two years old with basically no follow up. Senator Sexy-A$$ - 4 stars

A Review of Pawn: Volume One by Maya St. James This is the first book that I have read by Ms. St. James and I am so glad that I one-clicked it after reading the blurb. Maya definitely grabbed my interest with the characters and the storyline. Senator Graham Delaney, a young, wickedly handsome man, sets his eyes on Elle (the daughter of another Senator in his party). We soon learn that his pursuit of her may be part of a secret agenda and is not pure by any means. He puts certain motions in place to get her where he wants her. In his bed. Elle first notices Graham when she is waiting for a job interview, after her Father refuses to pay her last semester of college. Her pride will not let her ask anyone else for help, so she sets out to take care of her own needs. She ends up getting the job, making really good tips, just to get booted a week later. Graham just happens to be there when she is let go and follows her out. Although there isn't really any sex in this book, I have a feeling that we will see plenty of steam in the next one. I am looking forward to getting the next book in this series, to find out what happens and if they can keep their hearts out of this political mind-field. There are hints of a bad connection between Elle's Father and Senator Graham, which sparks all kinds of ideas about where this storyline can go. I would definitely recommend this book.
