  • Well-written collection of fantasy stories

The beautiful Kingdom of Foxwick is beloved by its citizens and coveted by the greedy and powerful. Will the kingdom fall in war or be stolen by great evil? This incredibly well-written collection of seventeen short stories takes the reader on adventures in Foxwick and its neighboring countries. Beautiful descriptions and flowing prose draw you into this fantasy world. The lands are diverse from the snowy land of Wintermill to the hot desert of Blackden Barrens. The inhabitants are just as varied, and each one as fascinating as the last. There's thrilling action, sweet romance, and marvelous magics. You feel a part of Foxwick and its history as you're living these moments along with the characters. My favorite story is Lady Death. She's the most deadly assassin in the land, but can she kill Death himself? Umbria is a strong-willed and determined woman, doing anything for those she loves. I held my breath as she entered the eerie Shadowlands in search of Death. It ends in the least expected of ways. Mage Game is a close second. I love the classic tale of a challenge sending its participants on a quest. A dragon's scale, a phoenix's feather, and a unicorn hair. The twin sisters must find these rare items not only to win the prize, but to prove to themselves they are more than just a herb witch and a soon-to-be blacksmith's wife. A must read for fans of fantasy.
