What a fabulous start to a new series!

What a fabulous start to a new series! Petal Plucker is a story that has it all! Funny, steamy and fantastic cast of characters! This is the story of Dandelion (Dani) and Jacob. They have a long history together.  Young unrequited love of epic proportions. Dani is such a quirky gal, but she embraces those quirks and makes her all the more admirable.  She is has issues with trusting people, but with good reason.  When Jacob walks back into her life after years apart, it brings all those trust issues she has back to the surface. Jacob, oh my me.  He was the popular student, he was the golden boy.  But what is the truth? After coming back home to help with the family business he sees Dani again and sparks fly. I am always cautiously optimistic when a book is labeled "romantic comedy".  Is it really going to be funny? Is it going to make me laugh out loud?  Well this book is truly a romantic comedy! It made me laugh out loud and made me fall in love with the characters! You won't be disappointed in this! This is the first book by Iris that I have read, but it will not be my last! I cannot wait for Marigold's story next!

What a fantastic, fun, and quirky read

What a fantastic, fun, and quirky start to a new series I am so excited for! Iris Morland has a hit with this witty new Flower Shop Sisters series. Dani and Jacob’s relationship is like a second-chance, unrequited young love, frenemies, Romeo and Juliet type romance and Ms. Morland delivers it with the perfect mix of everything. It’s sweet, steamy, hilarious, sexy, sassy, and romantic. This is a book you most definitely want to check out. I can’t wait to see what Iris Morland has in store for us next in the Flower Shop Sisters series!

    Dani and Jacob

The Petal Plucker: A Steamy Romantic Comedy by Iris Morland is a wonderful start to The Flower Shop Sisters. Dani (Dandelion) Wright has taken over her family’s flower shop and in town is the West family flower shop. Jacob West has returned to town after being very successful in NYC to help in his family flower shop after his father had a stroke. Dani has loved Jacob since grade school but he broke her heart in high school on top of that their parent hate each other. Dani and Jacob romance sizzle in The Petal Plucker and then throw in a flower arrangement competition where both Dani and Jacob want to win. I highly recommend reading this book and l am looking forward to the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: Petal Plucker, by Iris Morland

If you’re looking for a short read, this may be the book for you. It tops out just over 200 pages and is a fairly breezy read. It took me a while to finish it, even at it’s short length. While others may be able to read this in a few sittings, I found myself not too eager to jump back in after a strong beginning. I really enjoyed the premise and how the book was setting up for a big romantic second chance relationship. I just feel that it started falling flat after the set up. The characters weren’t very compelling and the single POV of the heroine may have limited my view of the bigger picture. I’d like to have seen more of what Jacob was going through. It was all very one-sided and very inside Dani’s head. I was also not really content with the resolution. It seemed too easy for Dani to just accept what had happened. Again, if Jacob was more fleshed out (outside of Dani’s head) and he communicated more (expanded dialogue, “more talk with less action” writing) the romance of it all might have come through more to me. I’m still curious where this series will go wit the other sisters. And I did read an ARC, so maybe more editing occurred before the book’s release. I’ll have to see how the next book is when it comes out.
