    Not up to standard

I miss the old Wilbur Smith. Luckily I have most of of his books in hard copy so will enjoy them yet again.

    Not up to previous books.

With glimpses of previous stories filled with historical settings, this one became tedious at times with too much “Tata”.

    Still great read!

Just as good a read the second time around! Who would think of inserting humour into a historical novel?

Another great read in the Egypt series

Another great Wilbur Smith novel in the Egypt series. I must admit I was confused where this novel fit into the series. I never did figure that out, but I loved the book nevertheless. Taita remains one of my favourite characters in the series, his arrogance and his clear thinking are delightful. I love the details of Egypt (factionalized of course) and the way the author ties in actual history. Loved it!
