  • Awakening

Everyone should read this, it's a great story. A fight to survive a marriage, the people who can’t see beyond their narrow little sliver of privileged life will find we are all looking for the same thing. The tragedy of greed is awakening. Hopefully the people who will read it can see what the horror of hate and revenge can do and make this world better a better place. I learned a great deal by reading this story, get a good lawyer.

  • Looking forward to the second series.

Holy Moly, what a ride! I don't know what I was expecting from this book. I'd never read the author's work before, but the blurb intrigued me, and I love the cover, so I figured, what the heck! From the beginning, the sense of dread and building tension is strong between the southern characters. I felt I went back into the south. But this isn't just the regular kinda story. It's a family and what we do to protect our loved ones—the life of a farmer and the fight to save his land. Second marriages are in question but again, what the heck.

  • Superb

The moment I started reading, my eyes were opened so wide that I couldn't get enough of the words in. The details of the plantation, the pastures, the food, and especially the characters. Each one has a different story to tell, but, are all connected. I don't give reviews and mention what the story is about. That is not how a review should be. Why would I want to read that, before I read the story, myself? Those are spoilers, in my opinion. This book should be recommended to family and friends. It's a definite book that I will remember forever. There were some books who do that to a person. This is the absolute best book there is! If you haven't read it as yet, do so, now. Such a pleasure to read from an author who knows what she's doing. Congratulations are in order! There are many writers out there, but, none like Jackie Lynaugh! She's the best!
