  • Played to death

The story line is captivating. I could not guess the real killer till the very end of the story. I like the way the author played by making almost all his characters suspects in the murder case.

  • Good

The plot is nice though too complex and could get confusing at some point. Also I feel more could have been done to explain the first victim's secrets. But overall, the book is great.

  • Played To Death

Great first book! Looking forward to reading more. Almost makes me want to take a trip to the East coast to find Unity.

  • I liked it.

The story was good. The format of the book itself, on my ereader was distracting, so that may have a bearing on my rating. This is supposed to have 312 pages? I think mine had about 3120 pages, as in most cases, there were only 1 or 2 sentences on a page. 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom. This made it annoying to read. I almost gave up. But format frustrations aside, I enjoyed the story.

  • Top notch whodunit, fascinating complicated tale

If you like Agatha Christie, this book will interest you. It is a long, satisfying read with many layers to the story. Every time we find an answer to a question, more questions arise and something deeper is revealed, much like peeling back the layers of an onion. The protagonist is unique — a former child prodigy concert pianist, former FBI agent, now in private practice. We get to know all the characters little by little, much like how the plot unfolds. The mystery was complex and involved music, history, inheritance, murder, small town development and more. Even at the very end of the book, I could not figure out who did it until the answer was revealed; then it seemed obvious! I’m going to read the next book immediately.
