    Fantastic

Fantastic story and a great addition to the Aces Hockey series. Really enjoyed this storyline as Chase, and Ace's hockey player and Jordyn, a famous singer bond over their love of hockey through twitter. Chase has always been a huge fan of Jordyn's so he flippantly throws out a bet. If his team wins she meets him for a date. Even wilder - she agrees! When they finally come face to face sparks fly instantly. Then they both have issues that affect them professionally. Weathering all the obstacles before them may be more than they can handle. I think everyone will enjoy this one. I definitely recommend it.

    3.5 Stars!

Two people at the peak of their very public careers find an unusual way to connect romantically. Chase, a hockey pro with the Chicago Aces has a celebrity crush on pop star Jordyn Banks. Jordyn who's from Chicago and a fan of hockey decides to follow Chase on Twitter prompting him to respond to her tweet. This starts a fun and flirtatious banter between the two. This was a pretty cute story. Chase's infatuation with Jordyn was almost like what you would see with a teenage crush. Both characters are pretty smitten with each other. I like how the author gave us a lot of couple time with them while still being realistic to the struggles of life getting in their way. This is a pretty low angst and safe read. I enjoyed this couple and didn't really mind the bumps they faced along the way. Both of them dealt with some hurt from their pasts that did get in the way few times but I never felt it was overdone.

    Enjoyable

4 Star Review of Playing Hurt (Aces Hockey #6) by Kelly Jamieson This is book 6 in the Aces hockey series and can be read as a standalone. Over the last few years I have been reading more and more stories about hockey and thoroughly enjoy them. Kelly Jamieson has done a great job with this series and this is Chase Hartman and Jordyn Banks’s story. When a flirtation between Chase and pop star Jordyn on twitter leads to a bet that Jordyn loses, she suddenly finds herself up close and personal with the oh so hot Chase. The chemistry between them is intense and yet both have their careers that they need to think about and neither believe that they have time for a romance. Or do they? I loved the banter between Chase and Jordyn which had me laughing out loud on several occasions. The writing was strong and kept my attention and there were plenty of hot and passionate scenes. As they get to know one another it is clear that there is more to their relationship that the flirtation that they both thought it was. What will happen when careers are affected? Will they decide to pursue a relationship or cut it off whilst they can?

    Loved Chase!

Chase has had a crush on pop singer Jordyn for a while and when they start flirting via tweets, he finagles a date with her. Jordyn loves hockey and since Chase started following her via social media and she has been watching him play when his games are telecast, she’s more than okay about meeting him up for a date. What follows is a relationship that would normally not come to fruition had Jordyn not had some issues that forced her out of the spotlight for a while. And yet, everything these two do seems very fortuitous indeed. I loved watching Chase and Jordyn together. Their banter was always light hearted and fun, the chemistry between them smoking, and the dynamics of their relationship felt very organic. While I was aggravated a time or two at Chase’s touchiness regarding his own issue, I understood why he reacted the way he did. But he gave good grovel when he messed up and I’m a huge fan of the grovel. This was a very enjoyable read that really doesn’t have a lot of drama or angst. What it does have is just enough to drive the story forward and make the reader question how these two will eventually make a life together. It’s got a great pace to it, fun secondary characters, enough pain in the past to make your heart hurt, and a satisfying conclusion. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    Too cute

Playing Hurt is a sweet hockey romance. Nothing says cute like Twitter flirting with your pop star crush- just don't tell Chase it's "cute". He would appreciate manly, awesome, or a world of other adjectives but hockey players aren't "cute". 😉 This former bad boy of hockey is reformed. He doesn't party, drink too much, or misbehave. But being on the straight and narrow doesn't absolve him of the ridiculous rumors surrounding his playing. Add a Twitter bet on a hockey game and you have the talk of the Twitterverse. A hockey player and a pop princess make a bet. A hockey player and a pop princess go on a date. But everything that happens seems to make it so much "harder"! (Snicker. If tournament a fan of innuendo, you might not be as entertained. The Hockey innuendo tweeted are a clincher for the book.) This sweet story with some delicious sexy times is just what the doctor ordered.
