Price to Pay (From Smokeless Fire #3) by M.A. Guglielmo continues the overarching theme of fallen angel out to destroy the world as we know it. Zahara, the antihero who had don the role as hero well, if reluctantly is again trying to stop Marut. Marut’s brother, Harut turned ally for Zahara has the potential to be a real boyfriend for this party girl. At times in this series the attraction seems more on her part than his. Now she may lose him before she has him, always a price to pay. The characters especially some of the supporting are so much fun to read. The dialogue is two steps pass sassy right into snarky but so smart and amusing. Zahara has progressed as a character while the story has remained fun reading oriented not apocalyptic scary. Since I have read each of the books in the series so far I can’t really comment on if this is a true stand-alone. I can say that I am glad I was able to read the books in order. An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    Thanks for your feedback!
