    Thanks for your feedback!

    Delightful read

The former Captain Oliver Dasenby has recently inherited a dukedom. Is is just coincidence that three recent deaths have elevated him to a duke or is it suspicious. Primrose Garland, a childhood friend finds him just as irritating now as then. But he is the best friend to her brother. Both are concerned for his wellbeing. The story is a mixture of romance, mystery and the paranormal (faerie godmother). As I would expect, a delightful read, well-written with some very likeable characters. Such an easy to read book (a good point). I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

    A real joy!

A welcome return to the wonderful world of the Baleful Godmother series. There is no need to have read the previous books - although the first of them, Unmasking Miss Appleby, is available as a free ebook so why not? I wouldn't have found this fantastic author if I hadn't picked it up as a freebie. One of Emily Larkin's biggest strengths is her male characters. Far too many heroes are clones of Mr Darcy. Hers are very real and human, with real human flaws. Oliver is one of my favourites. I'd find him just as infuriating as Primrose does, and also just as gorgeous. The dialogue is brilliant, witty and erudite. The mystery aspect of the story wasn't the strongest, it wasn't too difficult to guess the answer, but the emotional fallout that the whole mess caused was handled very sensitively. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review. It's definitely staying on my bookshelves as I'll definitely read it again!

    Delightful!

Magical, delightful, loved every page!! There are so many wonderful things I can say about this book, but it would not do it justice. You just need to read it to see what I mean!! The author kept me enchanted by her imagination and humorous writing with characters that where lovable and witty. This is the second book I have read within the Baleful Godmother sphere and cannot wait to read every one of them!! Oliver Dasenby is back from the war and has inherited his title of duke due to the unexpected deaths in his family. But he begins to suspect somebody is trying to kill him and not sure why! He is a very easy going humorous jokestor who has the single ladies of the season after him for the parson's trap! Lady Primrose Garland is sister to Rhodes, Oliver's best friend and has grown up knowing him. At twenty eight, bookish and highly intelligent, she has always thought Oliver a fribble and they have always teased each other. Gifted with a special talent by her faerie godmother, she has not thought to marry but when Oliver comes back into the picture, things begin to change. Mystery, suspense and a lovely cat and mouse game occurs when they are all at a house party and strange things start happening. Oliver is definitely in danger but who could it be? "Settle on the type of person you wish to be and stick with it, whether alone or in company." One of the many great quotes in this book. Loved it!!!!

And Emily Larkin does it again!

I have followed this series from the beginning, and the ideas remain fresh - each novel is original. Ms Larkin's heroines are quirky, and stand out from one another. Primrose is no exception. The romance develops while she helps Oliver, the hero, to solve a dangerous (to himself) mystery, and seeing two people who have known each other forever really get to know each other is part of the joy of this story. The only problem is having to wait so long for the next installment!

    Love it

Emily Larkin characters are so delightfully real you become so attached to them which makes her books a must read. I did enjoy Primrose and her Fey gift, it's a wonderful addition to the Baleful Godmother series. My absolute favorite is the first in the series, Unmasking Miss Appleby though I love them all and reread them often.
