Fun read full of danger, mystery and romance

This was a highly entertaining read based on Egyptian mythology and I love how Ms. Greenwood was able to bring to our times these gods and goddesses. Jobs, 'congregation' issues, infighting - it's all here, added to the danger, romance and mystery that the story is about. I really liked the scorpion aspect and found Protectors of Poison a fun read. I picked up an advanced copy of this book through booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Wonderful story

Sera is a kind hearted, self sacrificing and beautiful woman, and she just happens to be the God Serket. When a jackel crosses her path, Sera’s story will flow through the return to Egypt, love, and an attempt to restore her magic so she can help to save another God. This is a fabulous contemporary romance, inspired by Egyptian mythology. Laura Greenwood has managed to create wonderful characters based on information that’s know about the Egyptian Gods. You can definitely see the level of research that has gone into making this truly a beautiful and intriguing story.

    Great Read

A great story that's the beginning of the Forgotten Gods series on Egyptian Gods by this author. Someone poisoned Osiris by one Sera/Serket's scorpions and Seb was ordered to bring her to Osiris because one of her gifts is healing. As Seb and Sera investigate they find that someone is wiping Sera's name off her temples which weakens her gifts. Who is responsible and can Sera heal Osiris? I loved this story very much since 1. I'm a scorpion 2. Love reading Egyptian myths 3. Loved the characters 4. Clean Romance 5. Plenty of action 6. Well written. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

    Fantastically Good!!!!!

I really loved this story. Yes, it is a quick read but it is definitely good. It has some mystery, suspense, drama, and romance. It is extremely well written and the characters are beautifully developed. I loved Sera and Sed together. They have great chemistry and personalities. The story is different with the Egyptian Gods and how they would be in today’s society. It made a very unique story. I would have loved it to be longer just because I would have loved to read more about Sera and Sed. But, the shorter story doesn’t leave you feel like you are missing something. It was definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Good Read

This book is based around ancient Egyptian Gods and Godesses, this is this first book that I think I have read with this type of thread. I really enjoyed this book and it does raise the question ‘what if?’ Strong characters and a well thought out story make for a book you have to force yourself to put down.
