  • A book of revelatons

"Rage" by famed journalist Bob Woodward is an excellent portrait of Donald Trump and his presidency. Having personally interviewed Trump 17 times, Woodward paints a consistently troubling portrait of Trump. Throughout Woodward's discussions with Trump, Trump displays extreme pride in his accomplishments, often distorting what he actually has accomplished. The public, by this stage, has seen much evidence of Trump's inconsistencies, confusion, lack of understanding and narcissism, and "Rage" confirms these things. A very revealing and interesting read!

  • "Fear", now "Rage", is "Insanity" next?

This book is a fine adjunct to Woodward's earlier Trump book, "Fear". He gives good insight on the dysfunctionality of the White House administration. It is a bit repetitive in spots, and spends a lot of time on the Covid19 crisis, but is summed up nicely at the end, "... the wrong man for the job".

  • RAGE

All I can say is Brilliant. Not only the usual about an exceptional writer, organized, logical, well researched, fair and open minded, but from knowledge and background of his subject. I read FEAR and couldn’t wait for this book. Please let us never see leaders this diabolical again.

  • Surprised how unsensationalized it felt

This was...illuminating, at times, because I didn't know much of what was going on with his staff and advisors, and honestly, when my mental health is suffering, I avoided some of the news about him and definitely didn't know how serious and scary some situations were looking back. But I was also surprised as I read this to realize how numb and accepting I've become to how Trump is acting - I spent a lot of it going, meh, not surprised. It wasn't a hard to follow read, and the audio narration was decently done.

  • Mattis must be flattered

I was looking forward to reading this given all the press about it being a look into Trump via interviews by Woodward. These are indeed in the book, but only the last quarter. The first half may as well have been a biography on Mattis. If I took a shot every time that name was mentioned, I'd be so far gone I'd find Ivanka attractive. I respect Woodward and his work but his writing style didn't sit well. So many quotes attributed to people without the courtesy of quotation marks and times where quotation marks were used in the form of being in person to hear them. Yes, he describes why he does this at the end of the book but it makes one wonder how someone could deny the situation described. It made me feel like I was reading pseudo-fiction. Also the amount of errors was eye-opening. It was either poor editing or simply a rush job to get published.
