I was drawn into Purgatory from the first page!

I received a free copy of this book by subscribing to the author's newsletter and opted to post a review. I was drawn into Purgatory from the first page and didn't want to return! The plot is an intriguing interpretation of Purgatory and the mythos of Death and Grim Reapers. The inclusion of Norse mythology was incredibly unique and well thought out; there's quite a bit of Judeo-Christian symbolism in the plot so the Norse mythology was a refreshing change of pace. I loved Raven as a protagonist; she was unconventional, witty, snarky, and intelligent. I felt a connection with her and instantly became engaged in her story. The plot sizzles with some romance between Raven and an angel (I'm not going to tell you which one). However, I do wonder what this angel's true motives are because I'm sure "the powers that be" in Heaven are working an angle that has yet to be revealed. There are a few action scenes in the plot; however, the plot focused more on the political intrigue and inner workings of Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and the Reapers. The machinations of the characters appealed to my cerebral "inner geek" and I loved every moment of it. I'll definitely read the second book in this series to see what happens next!

    unintesresting

What a pity, the plot and characters could be interesting but they are told in such a sissy way they have no interest.
