  • Still fantastic!

Came into this book straight from Ninefox Gambit and without giving too much away, I was still deliciously uncertain abt Jedao the entire way. Getting the chance to see more of the other characters was wonderful as well. Great read!

  • It's Meh

I had no idea as to what the heck was going on. The story is slow, almost to the point of being boring. The author still never explained what hexarchate, heptarchate, calendrical warfare & mathematics has to do with anything. A glossary with the terms used in this book series would have been a great addition & help to make the series easier to understand & enjoy. And somewhere in book 1, I missed something. A d the characters, I'm feeling nothing for them. I finished this only b/c I bought the paperbacks of the series. I was seduced by fascinating covers.

Shuos Jedao is unleashed. The long-dead general, preserved with exotic technologies as a weapon, has possessed the body of gifted young captain Kel Cheris.
