    Thanks for your feedback!

    Great book highly recommend!

I loved this book! It's an easy read and her writing style is very engaging. The first book is about character building, but I already love them all. I gave it four stars as there wasn't really anything to keep you on the edge of your seat, but the characters could be anyone which makes it real and so hard to put down!!! I cannot wait to read the second book as I finished this book in 1 day!

Light, fun and a laugh out loud book

This is a light, fun and laugh out loud book. It's the first book in the Ray Series. I devoured this book in one sitting. The story is told in dual POV, but this book is a little different. Rae and Rex, who are brother and sister, are the the main characters and it is told in each of their POV'S. They have a small group of friends that the story centers around. Rae begins a relationship with Ryker that is very complicated. Rex is having financial issues that Rae and Zeke are helping him with. Zeke is secretly in love with Rae. Kayden is secretly in love with Rex. This book has it all. I found myself laughing to the end. I can't wait to read the next book to see where this series goes. I have been a fan of E.L. Todd's since I read her Forever And Always series. I will read anything she writes.

Review: Ray 1: Ray of Light

Ray of Light by E.L. Todd is the first book in her re-vamped Ray Series. This book is a slow burn, romantic tale of two people who meet-cute in the park with a runaway dog and wind up not only sharing the same social circle but they also now work together. It is also a tale of family and friendship and the trials and tribulations associated with both. This story continues in the next book, Ray of Hope. Rae and Rex are the siblings in the story. They love to hate on each other but will defend the other against outsiders every time. Zeke is the best friend of Rex and another brother-like figure to Rae. Zeke doesn't feel like she is his sister though. Far from it. Jessie and Kayden are Rae's two rambunctious best friends and all five of them get along wonderfully together. Friends and family are so very important to Rae. When Ryker enters the picture, Rae doesn't realize that the hot guy her dog abandoned her for at the park is a friend of her brother and Zeke. Despite their mutual attraction things are complicated with him being a friend of her brothers AND a notorious playboy. Will Rae continue to be attracted to the bad boy bed hopper or will she realize that Zeke is the one for her?

Intriguing journey with a great cast of characters

Interesting twist in this story is that we get the POV from Rae and Rex, brother and sister. Rae is strong, confident and smart. She is pursuing her passion in chemistry while she struggles to find love. Rex is struggling, he won the lottery and invested in a bowling alley but his business is struggling. This sends him to live with his sister which is hilarious. This relationship is very strong even as they fight like cats and dogs which is very realistic. Rae crosses paths with Ryker, the first man she seems to have had a real spark with but he’s a one-night stand kind of guy yet this connection is undeniable. As they start to build something, she finds out he’s her new boss. Add in some strong supporting characters – best friends, Zeke, Jamie and Kayden – and you get a complete world to devour. This is part one which has given a strong foundation and opened up several interesting questions about this cast of characters. I’m excited to see how these relationships evolve. I was gifted a copy of this book.

    Great start to the series!

This story is the introduction to a group of friends who are more like family: Rae, her older brother Rex, and their three friend Jessie, Kayden, and Zeke. When Ryker, Rex and Zeke's friend from high school, returns to town to take over his father's business, the attraction between him and Rae is immediate. But Ryker isn't the type to settle down or see the same woman more than once so Rae finds it best to be just friends to avoid damaging the group dynamic. This story was a great set up for this series. This group of friends believe that they know everything about each other but, because of the fear of losing each other, there are so many secrets that they keep from one another. I can't wait to see how this series unfolds when these six put everything on the table. *This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy*
