An amazing end to a catching start. Ally Condie writes a series you can't put down. It's a chilling look into the future when we lose our rights to just be. I would recommend this book to anyone young or old.

    Lots of food for thought

There are so many deep lessons to be learned throughout this series. I think Ally Condie did a great job writing these stories in the first person for each of the main characters. You get a sense of the deep thoughts and feelings of each. One can relate with them better and understand them more deeply especially regarding their struggles through their life choices, the difficulty they had in making those choices, and how the outcomes were sometimes sad, sometimes triumphant. And even thought the settings were in a different place and time, it still feels like it could be in our time as well. I'm glad I made the right choice in selecting this series to read as I was able to contemplate a lot on my own life as I read and feel more satisfied with some of the life choices I had to make even though they may not have looked like they were the best for everyone around me at the time. Excellent job Ally Condie!

    Brutal

This book was brutal to get through; I skipped most of it. My advice - stop at book 1.

    Reached

I found this book very... well written. But I wouldn't suggest reading it without reading the rest of the trilogy. Otherwise a lot of the language won't make sense. There are a few parts where you can't tell who the chapter is about without lookkng back. Overall 4 out of 5.
