Vince: a hero you hate to love

Wow, I kinda decided I wasn't gonna like this book..I'm not sure why because when I saw it on Netgalley I requested it and thought the cover and the blurb looked good. Netgalley did give me the book in exchange for an honest review. I figured I had read another series by Laura Wright so I should like it... I stared the book and I thought the hero Vince was an as$hole..huge..he was a totally dick so unlikeable I couldn't think how LW was gonna turn this around. I wasn't sold on the heroine either cause it seemed like she sold out and was just doing what her parents dictated. I did like her Bestie and Bestie's main squeeze so I will have to go back in the series and read books 1 & 2. After the first 10% the book started to grow on me and the more I read the more I was drawn into to this couple and the emotions that made them who they were...This short novel gave the reader such an emotional punch I couldn't believe that I didn't like them in the beginning. I have to give LW a lot of credit here because only a really good writer could create the feelings that were running through me as I read more and more about Vince's story and learned that he and Lisa had common ground and that brought them together. Lisa's strength of character supported the reader in connecting to Vincent in a totally different way. This was not an insta love novel although when they first met there was an attraction but it seemed that love was akin to dislike in their case and they went their separate ways only to be brought together again in strange circumstances. I totally enjoyed this short novel and gobbled it up. I am definitely going to get the first 2 books in the series and catch up with the characters then put this series on my auto buy list. I really need to explore more of Laura Wrights work as she is 2 for 2 in the series I have read. The is a 4 star read for me...The only reason it is not a 5 star is that I did feel that Lisa and Vincent's story is not finished and I do hope we get to see more of them and watch the relationship grow in future novels. This books get a t'irla high recommendation and a summer do not miss read. This novel was released May 26, 2015 so run out and get it now!

    A complicated tale of love.

Two emotionally complicated individuals trying to move on from past mistakes and never managing to let go. Vincent and Lisa's relationship seems like a toxic, self-destructive obsession. For Vincent forgetting the one that got away has not been easy, for Lisa she has tried to move on in a more stable direction but has bad boy Vincent has never been far from her thoughts. Bad decisions are made by both in the quest to find escape from the painful reality that they just may be the one individual that the other cannot live without. A deep meaningful at times frustrating story of two troubled people seeking to find their soulmate. Good story. I received an ARC of Rebel Ink by Laura Wright for an honest review.
