    A tender second chance romance

When Cruz needs a fresh start in life, he throws a dart at a map and finds himself in the tiny town of Sundown where everyone knows everybody and there are no secrets from the community. Cruz didn't need a woman in his life but when he sees Rosie he quickly changes his mind. The romance between Cruz and Rosie built sweetly and as trust develops between them, they reveal more and more about themselves. In this endearing relationship both Cruz and Rosie have secrets and are hurting, but they find acceptance in each other. Cruz's past eventually catches up with him and he almost goes crazy when he realises that Rosie has been placed in the crosshairs of trouble, but he forgot that he is no longer alone and has the help of people who accept him and love Rosie to stand with him. This second chance romance is tender and loving, highlighting the differences between city and country living, bringing healing in its wake. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. Great beginning to a new series.

Disclosure: I was given an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review. Cruz Ziffino has finally been released from a 10 year stint in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Unwilling to waste his time on anger and regret for the years he was incarcerated, Cruz decides a fresh start is needed and with the help of fate or destiny he leaves the gang ridden streets of Chicago for the country life in Redemption County where he meets the sweet, yet sassy Rosie Marlow. While the two hit it off from the start, the road to happiness isn't without it's hazards and obstacles. Cruz might have thought he left his past behind him, but others are not willing to let things lie. Then there is the fact that Rosie has her own secrets. Can she find the courage to open her past up to Cruz? Will it chase him away? This story runs the gamut of emotions. At times it made me laugh, cry, and sigh, Engrossing from beginning to end, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read Rosie's brother's story.

    Contemporary Romance

Record of Wrongs by Sharon Kay Redemption County #1 Loved this book! It was just what I needed to read last night and I would not have changed anything about it! I am eager to read more in the series and also find out how Cruz and Rosie are doing when her brother, Shane, has his story told next! Cruz Zaffino is an innocent man who went to prison for ten years before the “witness” recanted. With the desire to move forward and create a new life for himself – a positive one – he ends up in Sundown, Illinois where he meets Rosie Marlowe early in the story. They are both open to a relationship although neither really expected one and what a relationship it turns into with heat from the first but a slow growing one that is allowed to simmer for a bit then when finally acted on – oh my – HOT! I loved the ease with which the two did mundane fun things together in small-town Sundown. Their interactions were priceless and filled with caring and sharing as they opened up willingly to one another. I can really see them together with Cruz so alpha and strong and yet so very tender and Rosie so warm and caring with a bit of sizzle on the side. The supporting characters in the book were a delight and I look forward to hearing more about them in future books of the series. I really can’t wait to read the next book and hope there will be quite a few more books in the series from this author because this one felt so very good while reading it. Thank you to the author who allowed me to download a copy of this ARC through NetGalley – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

    Amazing second chance story!

I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review." Christian "Cruz" Zaffino served 10 years sentence for a crime he didn't commit although he was at the scene of the crime. He was released and decided he needed to change his life and moved to Sundown, Illinois. Rosie Marlow works at Sundown Bar and Grille. She have a secret demon which she is fighting daily but when Cruz and Rosie meet for the first time the attraction was immediately known. They became the talk of the small town especially Cruz a muscular, tattooed guy. The story was exceptionally written with great characters and intriguing storyline. Cruz and Rosie was a cute couple in need of each other for support and love. An amazing second chance romantic story!

    Thoroughly enjoyable read

This was the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Cruz is looking for a new start, a new life and moves to Rosie's little town. Rosie has her own secrets and they've been making her feel guilty for too long. They are both quite enjoyable characters, I love the other characters in town too and the story was great. It flowed nicely, didn't get stuck and had a nice element of action thrown in. I will definitely be looking to buy the next in series, and will be looking at Sharon Kay's other books too.
