    How democracy operates

Although Noam Chomsky confines this book to explaining politics and big business in the USA, the reality is that all the principles mentioned on how power and wealth are concern treated apply to any country in the world that has adopted the democratic system of politics along with its Siamese twin, capitalism. I say the two are Siamese Twins because as Chomsky elaborates, it is clear that a democratically elected government is unlikely to exist without the funding of big business. The two are so intertwined as Chomsky lays it out to an extent that most policies are dictated by Bug Business lobbyists. Having read this, I get a feeling that democracy is capitalism's (big business) Trojan horse. Is this a bad or a good thing? I don't know, I will let you read the book and judge.
