  • Missed the mark

Something was just off for me with this book. I love the premise, but I guess it was the cruelty for the sake of being cruel, and the naivety of the both the main characters. I like the story and the dual POV, but the actions of the characters didn’t draw me in. There was too much “extra” from side characters that seemed to be driving the storyline and in a way that was distracting. The main characters were overly melodramatic and that took away from the enjoyment of the reading experience. I’ll still read the next book in the trilogy, because I do want to know what happens with the storyline, but this book didn’t hit enough chords to bring it all together for me

  • Absolutely amazing!

A dark tortured hero. A heroine whose life is turned on end. A secret society steeped in tradition, who controls more than you'll ever know. This book is everything I love in a dark romance. All the twists and turns. All the surprises and intrigue. Santiago swears revenge on Ivy's family, and she's the poor soul who gets to suffer for their sins. But she's more than he bargained for, and giving into her might just be the thing that brings him down. I'm still reeling from this book, and completely unable and unwilling to move on. I loved Santiago and Ivy so much, and I'm so excited to see more about this world.

  • One of the best dark romance of 2021

Dark romance reached a new height of perfection in pens of Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli in Requiem of the Soul. These brilliant authors came together to create a twisted, intoxicating and addicting dark mafia world. With broken and villainous alpha antihero. With an innocent and utterly fierce heroine. And their jaw dropping, breathtaking and explosive romance. The most fantastic and genius Beauty and Beast retelling I have ever read. (I reviewed an early copy voluntarily)

  • Hold on tight - this is one wild ride!

Hades no!!! Omg 😲 Obviously - as this is a trilogy and well with who the authors are - this ends on a majorly twisted hanging on just barley by the tips of your nails cliffhanger I was such a mess at the end that I needed a couple of Valium and a stiff drink just to relax my hands and release the white knuckle grip I had on my kindle I think I know who's behind some of the horrors but the other two events? I have no clue I am going to try and do this without any risk of spoiling even the slightest of OMG reveals Santiago is a snake 🐍 Seriously if he isn't 100% sure why is he so determined to seek revenge? Ivy, you hang in there. Stockholm Syndrome is real so I'm giving you a little leeway for those rare moments you felt you saw more than darkness reflected in your monster's eyes But remember how you got where you are As for the "family" members and "friends"? Abel, you are a petulant spoiled brat who needs to be knocked down a peg or two - at the same time I get the feeling that you have something slimy up your sleeve Mystery girl (can't tell you who)why were you hiding during the marking ceremony and what do you know? Also, someone needs to take Mercedes to task, and quickly because I foresee some serious problems arising from her pious overlook I am so riddled with anxiety right now How did this happen? Why did they do it? More importantly Who is behind it????

Write this review it's been hard and i can tell you it won't give justice to the perfection of Requiem of the Soul!!! Because when two of the best authors work together to build up a new dark captiving world.... When the story they create it's utterly addictive and hocked you from the first page... When reading that story become your only purpose, everything fade in the background and even eating lose its appeal ( and that's huge for me because i'm italian and i love eating 😂)... When they keep you on the edge and make your heart beating so fast... When they leave you desperate for more because the book ended too early and with a mindblowing cliffhanger ... Then how do you express all those emotions in a simple review ?! I loved everything about this book: -the dark, "perverse" atmosphere given by the secret society' rituals, and rules; -the need for vengeance; -the scarred, imperfect main characters; -the raw passion and the dark desire; -the side characters who deserve their own stories; -the twist and turns that drove me crazy; -but mostly the whole enemies to lovers trope... Because a love born from hate is more intense, more painful and it require so much work... It somehow means more. Ivy and Santiago gonna have to work a lot. I can't wait to see what's in their future. And if this are the premises, it's gonna be an amazing ride 🤩🤩🤩 It's definitely a must read!!!!!!!
