    Dimitri & Thea

This is the second book in the Colorado Springs spin-off of the Montgomery Ink series and anyone who has read one of the "Montgomery" books knows what a loving and strong family they are. Not just blood family members but their partners and friends are all supported. It's one of the things I love about them. In this book we have Thea Montgomery, she is the owner of a bakery in Colorado Springs where Dimitri works as a maths teacher. He used to be married to her friend Molly but since the divorce, her friendship with Dimitri has been strained, perhaps because Molly has made it so? Thea introduced them originally so maybe that's another reason. When they meet up again, Thea is feeling vulnerable having experienced a disappointing night with someone else, there is a connection between them, the chemistry is palpable but Thea doesn't want to upset her friend Molly, so she is very conflicted about pursuing a relationship with Dimitri. Dimitri is still in touch with his ex-wife as his dog Captain is still living at her place while Dimitri looks for somewhere to live which will allow him to bring Captain. I love a man who loves his dog! Dimitri is finding it harder and harder to stay away from Thea. He's never had feelings for her in the past but now he sees her in a different light. He was left with few friends after the divorce, a thing that anyone who has been through this knows. He's trying to adapt to his new life, Dimitri starts hanging out with Thea's family and friends which means lots of time to get to know each other again. I really loved Dimitri, he was a big strong guy with a soft center, he loved Thea, he loved Captain, he loved the kids he taught - what's not to love? Oh, and he has tatts! I really liked the connection which Dimitri and Thea have, and I thought the way that they dealt with the situation was good. They were aware of the potential issues but didn't let them hold them back. There were new people introduced into the story too so hopefully, we'll meet them in future books.

    Not a favorite of mine

I knew the book was not going to be a favorite of mine when it began with Thea just having slept with Roger. It's a chapter long ordeal and as you know, I hate books where we see the hero or heroine sleeping or having slept with someone other than the other main character. The book just lost me as a reader there and I stopped reading it for a while. When I continued reading it, I just couldn't get invested in Thea and Dimitri's story. And speaking of sleeping with other people, we have Molly, Dimitri's ex and Thea's "best friend" appear too much in the story. I hated her and I don't feel like we got a satisfying enough explanation for her actions in this book. Also, did I miss the part where we find out how Thea's plan about expanding will happen? Roxie and Carter stole the spotlight and I am dying to read their book. In Restless Ink we are only teased about it and I want to see what made them have a strained relationship. Roxie never said anything about it to Thea and it got on my nerves in a good way. I would just love to see what was going on between her and her husband because you can see that Carter loves her a ton. Did they lose a baby or something as tragic? Are they just drifting apart? I don't know and I need to find out, The brightest spotlight was on Captain. I loved that dog, Thea loved the dog, Dimitri loved his dog. Everyone loved the dog. He had the best relationship with Dimitri. I hope we will see more of that canine in the future books. Another thing that was good was finding out that the author plans to write a series with Dimitri's family as the main characters. The universe is expanding even more and I am in for that! Overall, the book is not going to be one of my favorite books by this author. It made me think that we will always have an ex-wife/husband thing going on in the series and I am a fan of that idea, especially since Roxie and Carter are still married. I guess we will see what will happen next in the future books in the serie. I would recommend it with some hesitation.

    Twister Anyone?!!?

This is the second of the Colorado Spring Series. It’s Thea and Dimitri’s story, they have been friends for a long time but it has been strained a bit since Molly and Dimitri divorced because Thea is not sure how to be both of their friends without hurting the other. However, she decides she needs to try and make it work somehow, she doesn’t want to lose either of them. This story has it all there are ups and downs, it’s emotional and amazing and there is twists and turns that you won’t see coming but it’s a great story!! I loved the chemistry between the characters, getting to know them better and rooting for them to succeed when they face uphill battles. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

    Another great Montgomery Book!!

Ok..this might be a bit of a leap but try to follow my logic. I'm a Marvel girl. I LOVE the Marvel movies. Iron Man, THOR, Captain America...LOVE THEM ALL. But what I love even BETTER is the Avengers movies. Where they all come together. For me, The Montgomery Family is kinda like that. We get these fabulous books about wonderful characters but you still get to see them ALL TOGETHER. Carrie Ann Ryan has created a WHOLE WORLD with this family and I am happy to get to visit it often! Restless Ink is Thea & Dimitri's story. And gah! It was a story I LOVED. Thea Montgomery is over men. Done. Finito. After her latest dating fiasco, she decides to concentrate on her bakery. That is until she runs into an old friend and realizes that maybe giving up on dating might be a bit too hasty. Dimitri Carr is thrilled to run into Thea Montgomery. Considering Thea was his ex-wife's best friend, he is happy to discover that he hasn't lost Thea's friendship in the divorce. As they begin to spend time reconnecting...they also discover that they may have something more than friendship. Will these two be willing to take a leap? Carrie Ann Ryan has captured us again in her Montgomery web. I for one am happy to be here. I absolutely adore this family and love catching up with old characters as well as falling in love with new. With superb writing, the story flows well from beginning to end. Ms. Ryan has a wonderful talent for making her characters real. If you've never read about the Montgomery's you will want to pick them up. This fun-loving, supportive boisterous family is AMAZING. You will want to add them to your library!

Can you be friends with divorce friends?

What happens when your 2 best friends marry but then divorce? Can you still be friends with either of them? This is Thea's problem.... Thea's trying to be friends with both of her divorce friends Molly & Dimitri but when she sees Dimitri she realizes that she hasn't really been a good friend to him but that's about to change...when Thea is around Molly she is noticing changes with Molly. Thea and Dimitri rekindle their friendship but that is about to possibly change maybe becoming something more however when Dimitri's ex-wife Molly keeps popping up and making things...hinky! Thea asks her sisters and girlfriends for advice about Molly...it seems that they have noticed Molly isn't exactly the friend Thea thinks she is especially when Molly keeps dropping "helpful" tips to her that take wrong turns. (
