Fun, Lively & Witty-Great Action Too!

Book 2 in the War 'N' Wit Series, which is an accounting of this team's first "job" together -- well, actually, their second. Do read Book 1 first (The Witch) which sets up the relationship between the Warlock and the Witch and offers a really fun story with believable characters -- and some action, too. There will be no doubt that these two will be an incredible team. Books 1 & 2 are lively, fast-paced, and contain witty and snappy dialogue throughout. Even the cat has an intriguing personality. The chemistry between characters is truly exciting! I've never read anything in this genre before, but I love this series. On to Book 3, The Coven. P.S. -- I so appreciate the great editing!

    A Must Read

Chad and Ariel Garrett held me spellbound in the first of the War N Wit series, The Witch. There's never a dull moment with those two around. Throw in a cunning con artist/evil figure from the past and Ms Roughton does it again. In Resurrection, their adventure continues. A must read.

The Ultimate in Romance, Suspense & Magic

Resurrection is the second book of the War N Wit series. Chad and Ariel meet and marry in the first book, The Witch. Resurrection picks up immediately after The Witch, which I loved, because when I finished The Witch, I immediately bought Resurrection. In Resurrection, Ariel learns new magical skills and strengthens her magical connection to Chad. There is plenty of magic in the book with Micah the cat, a golem, a glamour, a magical amulet and a counsel who "polices" the magical world. Ariel's new magical talent, mind dominance in expanded into the plot and creates an exciting ending. Some new characters are included in Resurrection and Ms. Roughton gives us more details on Chad and Ariel. I love the fact that Ariel and Chad's characters can go in so many directions. I expect many more adventures with this couple, but will admit that their romantic relationship and their mutual magical skills are enough entertainment alone. The Witch and Resurrection are my two favorite books of all time and I have read thousands of books. The book takes place in Savannah, Georgia and south Georgia. Romance, Suspense and Magic....oh my.

    Entertainment + Magic & Fun

I read this sequel before the first book, but if you start here too, don't worry about it. There was no problem getting into this well-written story of magical characters who have just found each other--in this life. This book has snappy dialogue and reads like a dream, going down as smooth and satisfying as an ice cream soda on a hot day. The paranormal stuff was well-done, although the author draws some parameters which are uniquely hers, that shouldn't jar anyone's occult sensibilities. I felt immediately comfortable with the bright, funny characters, their new marriage and their "day jobs" as bounty hunters. The author knows Georgia well, and her characters spring naturally from that. She also knows life in a law office, and her witty observations about working in one ring oh-so-true to this retired secretary. Personally, I was happy to see a feline familiar appear like a little black champ, as I'm a cat person and a little burnt out on magical wolves.
