  • Revival by Stephen King

Read From: Jan 3rd – Jan 8th. 405 Pages. 5/5 stars. This story is just… awesome. There were numerous moments of where I was reminded of another novel, another place and while I am not 100% sure, I am wanting to go back and dig through them and see if they are connected some how. Not wanting to give away too much but I do believe at least Joyland and 11/22/63 tie into this book some how, I could totally be wrong. I will update this post when / if i figure that out. For the majority of this book, I was wondering where it was going to go. I wasn’t terrified and I wasn’t disturbed by most of the happenings. I was actually intrigued by them. First of all, I have always had my struggles with religion and this book hit most of them nail on the head. It has actually had me wondering more and more about the old worries I used to have, it has pointed out to me that I am not the only one that has them. Apparently King either has them or has thought them up on at least one occasion. The story line was absolutely intriguing, I loved the character development which spanned over not one year or a few months, but instead five decades. There is nothing better than getting to read the complete middle, beginning and end of a story and King wrote it with such talent that it is just amazing. The ending of this novel, for some reason, brought scenes from Pet Semetery to my mind (no they are in no way related), but it terrified me and it was totally worth staying up until four am to finish. Even though, I am officially going to have nightmare for a while. No, I am not giving away too much of the story line in this review, and I am sorry for that but… I just can’t. You see, Stephen King manged to write the three paragraphs on the back of the book in a such a way that most authors fail. He doesn’t give away the story at all and I don’t want to do that to him. This is a story that is well written, riveting, full of emotion and an absolute fantastic read. I would recommend it to just about anyone and I was one hundred percent satisfied with the latest novel by Stephen King.

I have not read King for some time, although once was a fanatic. This book and Mr. Mercedes reminds me why I was and now once again am a fanatic of the amazing Stephen King.

  • Something a little different... for the most part.

Not a typical Stephen King story. But like usual with his books I found myself transported into a story, so effortless to read. His characters were great again. I miss them already.

  • Thrilling

An excellent King novel. Exciting from start to finish. Once I hit the last five chapters, it was impossible to put down.
