Great Start to a New Series

I’m just going to put it out there to begin with – there’s no way I can be objective about a Laura Kaye book. I love her storytelling. I love her characters. Their emotion. Their conflict. I just love her books. Ride Hard is book one in a new series, a spin off of the Hard Ink series which introduced the brothers of Raven Riders MC. While their activities aren’t necessarily always on the “right” side of the law, the mission they’ve taken on for themselves is an honorable one. Helping abused women and children escape their tormentors and find new lives for themselves. Laura gives credit to the idea for the Raven Riders series to a real-life organization – Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). Once again Laura Kaye has woven an intense and suspenseful story. The characters are complex, lovable, and infuriating. The story itself is one of redemption and empowerment. And a hot, steamy romance between Dare and Haven. If you’re not already a fan of Laura Kaye’s, this is the perfect time to jump on the bandwagon.

    Amazing and awesome! Must Read!

I loved and enjoyed reading the fabulous and fantastic, amazing and awesome, ARC free from Goodreads Giveaway by the wonderfully, talented Laura Kaye. Haven Randall is on the run from her abusive, controlling, criminal father with her best friend, Cora, and given refuge with the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club. Dare Kenyon, the President of the Ravens, is a protector and a leader of his fellow Ravens, their families, and the women the Ravens help in times of need. Haven and Dare cannot help or stop their feelings for each other growing day by day. As the time draws near for Haven to leave, her father gets closer and closer. If Haven's father gets a hold of Haven, he will make sure she suffers and will never escape again. Read the highly recommended, must read, beautifully written, romantic love story of Haven and Dare.

    Ride Hard by Laura Kaye

Ride Hide by Laura Kaye Romantic suspense that is engaging, and super sexy hot. Lots of swearing as FYI. First in a spin off series about a motorcycle club. Mostly protectors that aren’t opposed to crossing a few legal lines when necessary. I haven’t read the first military series, so didn’t know the touch point characters but also didn’t have any problems following the situations that were referenced. Overall really enjoyed this fast sexy intriguing read.

    Sweet and Sexy MC Romance

This is my first Laura Kaye experience. I’ve had Ms. Kaye on my TBR since she came out with her PNR series Hearts of the Anemoi and of course I’ve add the Hard Ink and Raven Riders to my TBR pile. Yes, I bought the Hearts of the Anemoi series, all of them, and meant to read, but of course I got distracted, so I’m diving into her MC Contemporary Romance series. Ride Hard is book one in the Raven Riders series by Laura Kaye. It is a spin-off from her Hard Ink series. The Raven Riders series can be read as a standalone and you don’t have to read the Hard Ink series to dive in. Even though I did't read the Hard Ink series I was just fine picking this up. Yes, the guys from Hard Ink make appearances, which of course if you haven’t read them it makes you want to read their stories and for fans who love the Hard Ink guys, it will be a treat to see them again. Raven Riders MC President Dare is honorable, loyal, gruff, and alpha sexy. Haven is shy and has lived a very sheltered life. She and her best friend Cora, have taken shelter with the Raven Riders. Haven brings out Dare’s protective instincts even more then they already are. This story is full of sexual tension between our leads. These two where sweet. They had several endearing moments together, but they also had some very steamy moments. What I liked about Ride Hard was the introduction to all the characters. The guys of the Raven Riders MC are all so scrumptiously delicious and intriguing. I also love that the MC is on the up and up and not a 1% MC, which is the bad kind. These guys have a great mission and what they do is awesome. I love how they are dedicated to helping those who can’t protect themselves. What I had trouble with in this story is that it moved a little slowly at times and I didn't fall head over heels in love with Haven. She felt too innocent, too shy, and I didn't connect well with her. All and all I enjoyed Ride Hard and the introduction into the Raven Riders. I had a delightful time reading this story. If you love a slow burning romance and MC romance, then you should give Ride Hard a try. Rated: 3.5 Stars *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Avon via Edelweiss with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.

A different kind of MC romance

Laura Kaye brings her own unique twist to the MC genre and I love it! RIDE HARD would be your typical MC romance except for one thing: the Raven Riders are white knights on hogs and protecting those in need is at the core of their brotherhood. That doesn't mean they won't skirt the edges of the law, it just means whatever lines they cross will be for good and if that doesn't suck you right in, I don't know what will. Dare Kenyon lives for his family, his club and his brothers and nothing more. As president of the Raven Riders, he's invested in the club's purpose for personal reasons, but beyond that he likes his life just the way it is. Until the club takes in a couple of women in need and his attraction to one of his charges makes him realizes how empty and lonely his life has been. Haven Randall lived a sheltered and isolated life, kept prisoner by her father almost all her life, of no use to him except as housekeeper and a possession to be traded for a beneficial alliance to him. Until she ran away and suddenly found herself with a huge bounty on her head and in the cross-hairs of every lowlife looking to collect on that bounty. She's determined to catch up on all the experiences that eluded her during her incarceration by her father, from the mundane to the exciting and it just so happens that only one intense and attractive biker plays a starring role in her fantasies. I enjoyed this story because while it embodies a lot of what is familiar about MCs, it also has a lot of heart and raw emotion. Haven and Dare are just perfect for each other. Her innocence and gentleness are just what he needs to nourish his dry and lonely heart and renew his life. And how can he resist the lure of her sweetness and beauty as well as the need to protect it? Just how far over the line will he go to do so? I loved the quick check in with the Hard Ink crew that we got and the potential for them to show up in this series from time to time due to their alliance with the Ravens. Beyond the romance between Dare and Haven is the fact that tensions are running high in the city after the fall of the Church gang and others are fighting to fill the vacuum left behind. Will the Ravens and their allies be pulled into the power struggle? I guess we will find out as the series unfolds. I love Ms. Kaye's writing and RIDE HARD has me really excited about the rest of the series. If you are not a fan MC romances, RIDE HARD will definitely make you a convert.
