Laura Kaye - a new good author discovered!

"Wild Ride" is the first book I have read by Laura Kaye. The book is a well written, smoothly flowing, captivating story with convincing scenes and believable characters with depth. Not every good writer has the gift of bringing a child alive, one who convincingly acts and speaks at the age s/he is portrayed in the story. Two of the main characters in "Wild Ride" are children. Laura Kaye has the gift of bringing children alive. She also understands human behaviour and emotions well and can communicate them to the reader well. I'm glad I have found another interesting, gifted author in Laura Kaye!

    Loved Cora and Slider!!!

This has got to be my favorite book in the series, thus far. Maybe even by this author, period! Slider, oh my, he's gone through so much more than I even imagined, and with Cora's help he's finally coming back to himself and his boys. Cora is the best thing that could have happened to the Evans' family, and they for her. I loved the way she was with everyone and that she never seemed to be afraid of Slider, even with all she had gone through before. If ever anyone was more deserving of an HEA, I'm not sure I've met (read) them! But what a journey it took to get them there! And along the way, we got to catch up with so many other favorites. I don't see how this story could have been any better!!!

Laura Kaye at her very best!

This is the book I have been waiting for, the book I was hoping for, and I am ecstatic at that Laura Kaye gave me everything I wanted and more! With Cora, it was love at first sight for me; she has an undeniable quality that just appealed to me, and I knew her story would be fantastic, because she is unforgettable; Slider was very enigmatic, and Cora paired with Slider is a literary dream come true! Never has Ms. Kaye written such multifaceted characters as Cora and Slider; they have both suffered so much, but while Cora has survived and has never let her horrendous experiences ruin her life, Slider’s life is holding by a thread, or rather two threads: his two sons, Sam and Ben. I am not particularly a fan of children in romances, but in RIDE WILD, it was perfectly executed; Sam and Ben come off as normal children, even in the painful context of their short lives, and are an essential component of the story, and actually of the romance. I was really astonished at how I became involved in the story, and how the romance develops is absolutely perfect every step of the way; it followed a logical path, it could not have progressed otherwise; it was difficult to watch at times, and I say “watch” because I “saw” them. I experienced what they felt, how they felt, and how I cheered for them! Dog fighting, dirty cops, and dude, that ending! Seldom does an author write exactly the book you wanted to read, and with RIDE WILD, Laura Kaye did just that. RIDE WILD is an extraordinary book, a romance for the ages, and Laura Kaye at her very best; this is the real deal! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I just want to hug Slider

I had a great time reading this book and Slider and Cora put my emotions through the wringer. Laura Kaye is a phenomenal writer and her stories are always filled with wonderful characters, deep emotions, and beautiful moments between characters. Watching Slider find himself again and learn to embrace life was great to read and probably my favorite part of the story. He’s been so burdened with his secrets and his grief that he’s given up everything. But the Raven Riders haven’t given up on him and that’s helped anchor Slider even when he didn’t know it was. But even through all of that, his love for his sons shines clearly. I’m a sucker for a hero who’s good with kids and the little moments between Slider, Sam, and Ben were adorable! These were probably some of the best written kids in a romance that I’ve read; they are so unbelievable cute. Cora is also there to help Slider, not just by taking care of his kids but also bringing much needed happiness and fun to his home. I loved Cora and her compassion for others and her selfless giving to everyone around her. Cora and Haven’s friendship has been a highlight since the first book and this was no exception. Cora would do anything for Haven and her support just demonstrates how important female friendships in romances are. As Cora finds a place with Slider she begins to see a future that she never imagined. A hard upbringing left Cora feeling alone and when her father does the unthinkable, Cora’s confidence is shattered. Cora helps to save Slider but in may ways, Slider saves Cora as well. These two were amazing together and the chemistry jumps off the page whenever they’re together. Slider and Cora are hot, hot, hot!! But underneath all the sparks and fire is a deep well of caring and love. The reader can see from the beginning of their relationship that what these two have is real and powerful.
