    Sexy Motorcycle Club book

3.5 Stars This isn't the kind of book that I read very often but every once in a while this is exactly the kind of book that I feel like reading. I mean if you are in the mood for a sexy book about a bad motorcycle club member, look no further. This was a very sexy book that dove a little deeper into real feelings and a mystery that kept me guessing. Cole was the highlight of this book for me. Cole makes no excuses for who he is and what he has done. He is straightforward and usually says exactly what he is thinking. He may be a bad boy but he is a bad boy with a lot of honor. This bad boy treats Mia as if she were a treasure. I always love a story with a bad boy who is really good under all of his layers. "You look like you're having a bad day. Let's combine your bad day and my bad idea, and be bad together." Mia has been through hell and back. She is determined to make the people who hurt her pay and will go to great lengths to make it happen. She does not expect to actually feel something for Cole. That was never a part of her plan. I didn't like Mia nearly as much as I liked Cole. The fact that she was Cole's psychologist really bothered me. There are certain lines that should never be crossed and I think that this is one of them. That being said, I shoved my moral problem with the situation aside and just went with the story. Mia seemed to really learn a lot about herself during the course of this story. I did like Mia and Cole as a couple once I decided to ignore the fact that she was his psychologist. As people, they really did work together despite the fact that they were so different on the surface. They both seemed to gain something from each other and were stronger together than apart and there was a lot of chemistry between the pair. The sexy times were hot and there were enough of those sexy scenes to keep the spice up the book while maintaining some focus on the underlying mystery to be solved. I really liked the way this book was written. The characters were nicely developed. The balance of the mystery and the sexy times was handled very well. I never felt this this was just a collection of loosely connected sex scenes which I have felt in other erotic stories. Each scene really moved the story along and helped to develop the characters. I would recommend this to fans of erotic romance who like a little bit of bad boy in their story. This is the first book by Jill Sorenson that I have read but I plan to read more in the future. I would definitely continue with this series. I received an advance reader edition of this book from Carina Press for the purpose of providing an honest review.

    Fantastic, steamy, fantasy MC romance!

Fantastic fantasy read for those who enjoy steamy motorcycle club romances! Mia and Cole have smoking chemistry from their very first encounter. However, Mia’s nefarious plans for revenge fall by the wayside early on as she gets to know Cole and decides she can use her counselling skills to help rather than hurt and ultimately use him. I can’t believe that Mia would have done such an about face as a person and become who she is in this book…no matter what she went through…though perhaps it is possible. I enjoyed the growth of emotional and physical intimacy between Mia and Cole and liked the fact that they eventually supported one another while under duress and chose to be together at the end. I hope that the two of them will get what they both ultimately want and need after this book ends. Perhaps we will hear more about Cole and Mia as the series progresses since there will be more books in the series. And, with that said, I really do want to hear more about Ace and his story – what was mentioned about him makes me think there is quite a story to tell and for all of us to enjoy reading when the book is released. Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the copy of this book to read and review.

    Dirty, violent, enthralling MC romance!

This one starts out tense and doesn't let up from start to finish, making it the type of book you can't put down with the combination of hot sex, biker politics and constant danger keeping you enthralled. I really enjoyed everything about the story. Cole is a man who is challenging himself to turn things around, though acting as an informant for the DA's office to keep himself out of jail isn't the way he would have chosen on his own. Still, he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially when he gets to spend time with sexy psychologist Mia. Little does he know that she has an agenda of her own, which includes seducing him to find out who is responsible for a violent attack on her now dead husband and herself. She knows it's someone with MC ties, and that the club is an enemy of the one Cole belonged too. She just doesn't expect that she'll develop strong feelings for him over such a short time, ones that lead to sex and possible disaster for everyone involved. This story doesn't pull any punches. It's violent and super sexy and dirty and stressful (for the reader and the characters!). While Cole comes across as a bad guy trying to change, Mia is the opposite - a good girl, finally letting the bad girl come out and play. This leads to hot and sexy scenes between them, at first just sex, but quickly becoming more as Cole's desire for intimacy mirrors Mia's own loneliness as a widow. She's crossing professional lines from the start so when she starts sleeping with Cole it may have been part of her grand plan but it quickly disintegrates into real affection. As time goes on, she realizes that having Cole take revenge for her will destroy the new relationship they are building, a catch 22 indeed. Cole makes no apologies for his history or his chosen life, only lets Mia know that he wants to change. At times it seems it's going to be impossible for them to get a happy ending, which keeps you turning the pages at a speedy pace as the action comes to a heated and thrilling conclusion. 5 stars for this gritty, sexy romance. Can't wait for the next one!

    Mixed Feelings

Psychologist Mia Richards's life changed three years ago when her husband was killed in a home invasion robbery and she was left for dead. For her safety, she was placed in the Witness Protection Program and has since moved on, at least professionally. Personally, Mia has been bidding her time, planning revenge on her attackers and she just found the perfect weapon in one of her patients - ex-con Cole 'Shank' Shepherd. Cole's affiliation with an MC is exactly why Mia chose him and she plans to seduce him, use him to identify and take out the killers - members of a rival MC. What she does not prepare for is the she will like him as well as be deeply attracted to him. Cole Shepherd grew up in the Dirty Eleven MC and now he plans to betray them in exchange for early release from prison, a breach of the code by which the MC operates and his death sentence for sure. Things get even more complicated when his psychologist turns out to be a smoking hot woman who gets him revved up very fast and he makes no secret of his desire to get her into his bed. But more than just the sex, Mia makes him take a good look at his life and he finds himself wanting more than he's had so far. He wants an actual connection and real intimacy, he wants to settle down and share his life with someone and he wants all of this with Mia. The question becomes how can two very different people, from different backgrounds make a go of this? What will happen to Mia's revenge plot? What about Cole's commitment to informing on Dirty Eleven? How can all of these competing obligations be resolved to their satisfaction? Mia knows that as soon as she decided to seduce her client for her own purposes, her career was pretty much over and while she is determined to complete her plan, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep her eye on the goal as Cole dedicates himself to bringing all her sexual fantasies to life. Wow! RIDING DIRTY really is dirty (I just had to say that) and dark. Even though I've read some MC books and considered them to be a raw and gritty depiction of the MC life, RIDING DIRTY is definitely on a whole other level for me and I found myself a bit discomfited by some of its content. The complexity of life as a member of an MC is really the main theme of this book and I give Ms. Sorenson high points for pushing the envelope quite a bit with the wilder and explicit scenes. I have mixed feelings about the characters due to my personal tastes but I'll highlight the positives. Cole makes no excuses about his past, but he is very straightforward and blunt and when it comes to Mia, he is very possessive. Mia is focused, bold and single-minded about what she wants. These traits are just what they need to deal with the changes in their relationship and the danger that they find themselves in. For anyone who loves MC books or very explicit erotic romance, this may be just the book for you. If however, you have a taste for the more conventional type of romance, then I highly suggest that you pass on this.
