  • Beautiful book!

A beautifully written second chance romance by the amazing Devney Perry. I’m not a big fan of rock star romances, but we’re talking about Devney Perry here and I’ll read anything she writes. This book has all my favorite tropes. Small town and single father. Quinn is a Rock Star. She is the drummer of The Hush Notes. Nine years ago she walked away from everything, including the only boy she had ever loved. But now she has to go back to Bozeman, Montana to bury her beloved Nan. Graham never forgave Quinn walking away from their love and never came back. This book gave me so many feels while reading it. It was heartbreaking to me how Quinn’s family treated her at the beginning. The chemistry between Quinn and Graham was very good. And love Quinn’s relationship with Colin. The epilogue was beautiful. Couldn’t have a better ending. I so want to read the other two books. I’m dying to read Nixon’s story. My Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • 5 Rock and roll stars!!!

"Why don't you sing? I gave him a sad smile. "Because of you. I just ... can't. Like today, I needed you". "As a crutch". "No". I shook my head. Crutch wasn't the right word. "As a muse". I never stood a chance. This story absolutely consumed me. It might just be my favorite read of 2020. The plot is engaging with the right amount of angst and the characters are relatable. I absolutely loved Quin and Graham, once high school sweethearts who took different paths and grew into their own apart. I really admired and respected that they could admit that despite their suffering, things wouldn't have work if they stayed as they were. The different characters dynamics were complicated but i deeply related to some of them. I went in expecting a rock star romance but this book is so much more than that.

  • Unexpected and yet completely loved

Holy wow! This book was something I wasn't sure on what to expect going in but boy did it deliver! Something completely different from Devney Perry and totally needed! This book sucker punched me with all the emotions. and rifts that came through out the book. Characters that pulled at my heart and made me melt, times that were so cute and side characters that I loved! This second chance romance will leave you with a smile and now I can't wait for the next story!

  • My new favourite love story

I want so badly to write something elegant and eloquent, but the only word that come to me right now is Wow! Just Wow! I feel like Devney Perry has hit me in the face with a fist full of feels! This book, this beautiful, raw, painful love story, had me bawling my eyes out from almost the first page. Every sentence is evocative, whether it’s hurt from a painful past, or being an outsider to a close knit family, sorrow at losing a beloved Nan, or the power of a love that was left behind but has never gone away, or elation at the second chance at a future that always should have been, along with the sweetness only a child can bring. I use this phrase a lot, but this story is the absolute definition of an emotional rollercoaster, my head and heart were all over the place. I absolutely fell head over heels for Quinn, daughter of a preacher, she went against the grain to follow her dreams of being a rockstar, which she has excelled at, unfortunately this dream came at a price. Her father disowned her, her family didn’t want to speak to her and the saddest of all, she had to leave behind Graham, her childhood sweetheart, but also, the one and only love of her life. When Quinn returns for her Nan’s funeral nine years after leaving, the first person she sees is Graham and all the feelings she has channelled into her music and tried to forget, come flooding back, but Graham is no longer the 18 year old boy she left behind, he’s now a man, and an angry one not at all happy to see her. It took me a bit longer to fall for Graham, though he was, in his eyes, left behind, he was just as stubborn as Quinn, expecting her to leave her dream and come back for him, instead of encouraging her or following her. He was also the first to move on, Colin being the result of that. Although, I loved Colin to pieces, I was angry at Graham for his treatment of Quinn and the way he acted in the beginning, I wanted Quinn to make him understand how much he hurt her too. Quinn and Graham have the epic, once in a lifetime kind of love, one that spans countries and decades and will never truly be over, that was obvious from the abundance of pain they harboured, you don’t have feelings so strong without love being involved, so it was inevitable this pair would overcome their obstacles to be together. I devoured this, each and every character brought something special, especially Nan, and how she was guiding force for bringing Quinn and Graham back together.
