    Romance

Rugged Texas Cowboy by Lora Leigh Two novellas in one book – Having seen Lora Leigh’s name about for some time I thought this book might be a nice introduction to her writing but perhaps not. This is a story of two friends/business partners in business together as pilots. They take on an iffy job and nearly die in the prologue and then have their romances told in each of the novellas. I have to say that if you are looking for a cowboy romance or one that could possibly maybe happen and is realistic then stay away. If, on the other hand, you are looking for some steamy scenes with more of a fantasy feel then this might work for you – sadly I didn’t really fall for either hero or heroine of these stories. COWBOY AND THE CAPTIVE Luc Jordan kidnaps the woman who set him up in the prologue – or thinks he does – and has the blessing of her brother to do so. I had trouble with more than one thing in this story from the parents adoring Maria and using Melina as her scapegoat to the instant attraction she felt the first time she saw Luc…before the kidnapping. Not my cup of tea…though I don’t mind a bit of bondage and other things that happened in this book IF in the right context with consent of both parties. COWBOY AND THE THIEF Jack Riley ends up in Ireland where he buys a family heirloom with magic powers. Angel Manning, the daughter of the seller of the heirloom, is incensed by the purchase and heads off to steal it back. This book again has some questionable interactions in the bedroom and a romance I found unbelievable…the only thing I can say is that necklace must have had STRONG magical properties to see the Jack and Angel together at the end. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 1-2 Stars

    Gotta love those Texas cowboys!

COWBOY AND THE CAPTIVE This fantastic romance features Luc Jardin and Melina Catarina Angeles. These two were burning up the sheets! Their chemistry was explosive! Amazing story line with plenty of suspense, heartbreaking memories, soul crushing family issues and let’s not forget...love. Thank God for Joe because I’m at a loss for words where her parents are concerned. I was so happy to see Sam and Heather August. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen them. COWBOY AND THE THIEF This story features Jack Riley and Angel Manning. These two have an intense, fiery connection. Denying a long running Irish legend, these two mentally fight their attraction towards each other but their bodies won’t be denied. It’s highly entertaining watching them struggle. I love the little bit of Irish paranormal mixed into this story.

    4 Stars for both!

Cowboy and The Captive: This is an enemies to lovers and a mistaken identity situation. Melina has a twin sister, Maria who is addicted to drugs. Her parents keep guilting Melina into impersonating Maria when she gets caught to get her out of trouble. The problem is Maria is getting in worse situations that Melina can't talk her way out of and it's going to cost her her life. Luc has been buying his time until he can seek revenge on Maria for almost getting him and his friend, Jack killed. Luc doesn't want to hurt her, but he thinks he can straighten her up by kidnapping her and making her detox. What he doesn't know is that he kidnaps Melina instead of Maria. Luc and Melina's story was very entertaining. Lora Leigh has no problems with letting the sparks fly between her main characters. I really enjoyed this one. Cowboy and The Thief: Enemies to lovers trope. Jack is visiting his old friend Joseph in Ireland when he meets his daughter, Angel. Angel is very prim and proper with a hidden temper underneath and no one can get her riled faster than Jack. Joseph is conspiring to get Jack and Angel together and he takes a risk by selling a family heirloom to Jack that is legend to be responsible for granting true love to the daughters in the line. Angel is furious and follows him back to Texas to try and steal it back. Once again, Lora Leigh had the sparks flying in this short novella but I will admit I was a bit confused in the beginning. I couldn't tell if Jack and Angel had already known each other or had just met. I felt like I was missing the true beginning of the story. Still a very entertaining read! ARC provided by NetGalley.

    Rugged Texas Cowboy

To read Rugged Texas Cowboy is to double the pleasure because both of the stories is this book by Lora Leigh are scorching! In the Cowboy and the Captive, Melina and Jardin heat up the pages with some sizzling chemistry and a very turbulent and emotional romance. The reader is kept on the edge of their seat as their relationship is full of secrets, miscommunication and mistaken identity which keeps this couple fighting their desires throughout. In the Cowboy and the Thief, Angel and Jack’s relationship starts off on a very rocky path and continues to keep readers entertained throughout as their electric chemistry, stubborn personalities and blistering hot passion peppers their relationship. The clashes between the couple are amusing while keeping the happily ever after in suspense until the very end. Lora Leigh is one my favorite authors and I always highly entertained by her fabulous characters and sensual worlds that always grab my attention and hold on tight. The two stories in Rugged Texas Cowboy are no different and I can’t wait to read another Cowboy and Captive romance.

    Great Read

Rugged Texas Cowboy by Lora Leigh is like hitting the jackpot, you get two book in one. Both books are well-written and populated with amazing characters. The first book, Cowboy And The Captive is Luc and Melina's story of mistaken identity. This is my favorite of the two books. There's plenty of drama, action, humor and sizzlin' sexy bits. The second book, Cowboy And The Thief is Jack and Angel's story. Their tale is loaded with drama, humor and yes, enough heat to start a bonfire. I enjoyed reading Rugged Texas Cowboy and look forward to reading more from Lora Leigh in the future. Both of the stories in this book are complete, no cliff-hangers. I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
