Running the Numbers by Roxanne Smith A Long Shot Romance #3 Conflicted is how I feel about this story. I hate to give poor star ratings for books but this is a book that hits just below a three for me. Why? • I did not like any of the characters. • The plot was so-so and rather unbelievable. • The romance, if there was one, did not resonate with me. • The women and men were immature and lacked depth. • It did not hook or hold me • I could not see why anyone would want Blake, the main character. • I could not warm up to any of the characters. What did I like? • The writing/editing was okay. • The owner of the business, Duncan. • The epilogue - it summed up the happiness all main H/h characters in the series managed to find. • Eric/Erica the fox in Blake’s back yard. • The concept of friendship if not the execution of it. My guess is that if you have read the previous books in the series you will want to find out what happens to Blake – think the first books in the series were about two of his ex-wives finding their true loves - and whether or not he gets his act together and has a happily ever after. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. 2 – 3 Stars
