  • Powerful mix of trauma, growth and determination

This is not the kind of book I usually read, but I did come to enjoy it. I had hoped to find out more about the Trump era and the people of the rust belt. Rust deals more with a young woman committed to her Catholic upbringing, while struggling with bi polar disorder and the trauma of being raped at a Catholic university. Purely attracted by union wages, she takes a job at the steel mill in her hometown of Cleveland. Her life and her gradual growth into a fully fledged steel worker are neatly interwoven. Her explanation of the strength, fortitude and determination of surviving life as a steel worker are well worth the read.

    Thanks for your feedback!
