  • Dark sexy romance

Rollercoaster ride of emotions as I don't always like dark romances. And here, Viori is unbalanced and a bit wild (not the cute wood sprite way) to Micah's goodness. A good follow up to the first of this new series. Micah and Vee manage to overcome the obstacles in their relationship. They both had to work hard towards that. Internal realisations, adjustments to opinions, impressions of others, plans, goals, feelings of love, all started coming about after 60% of the book. Nothing felt rushed. I love reading a book that takes me along in its journey from the questions to the lows, to the satisfying happy ending. I started this book with hating everyone but Micah to accepting and even loving them in the end. For a dark paranormal, this book ticked all the boxes. Did Vee redeem herself for Micah? Did I understand or sympathise with her by books end? Was I satisfied with Micahs’s hea? Did I fall back in love with Kaysar? Can I bare Cookie again? Yes to all that. An excellent read and I can’t wait for more like these!

  • This one pushes the boundaries!

You know those times that you have been held back from doing, saying or wanting something by pesky morals? Yeah, Viori doesn’t have that problem… She has her own opinion of what is right and wrong, but don’t expect it to align with anyone else’s! It is really easy to have sympathy for Micah, even if he does take things to extreme at times. A little bit too extreme? Well, that’s for Viori to decide. Ruthless is immersive and very well written - sure to be another bestseller from our incomparable Gena. If you are looking for a cheeky and amusing story, starring characters with very flexible morals, then Ruthless is the book for you! Full disclosure: I was given an ARC of the book, however this review is my own honest opinion.

  • Sharp-edged and intoxicating

This sharp-edged and intoxicating read sucked me right in, stole my breath, stretched my nerves to their breaking point and pummeled my heart until I didn't think it could take anymore! One thing is for sure, Micah and Viori's story isn't for the faint of heart because the angst is rich, the tension taut, the intensity thick and the burn slow. This is my freely posted frank review.

  • Perfect for lovers of Fantasy and crazy characters

4.5/5* Ruthless is the second book in the Immortal Enemies series and tells the story of Micah and Viori. After having read Heartless, the first book in the Immortal Enemies series, I was so excited to start Viori’s story. And what a story it was! Ruthless was such a good Fantasy Romance. This book was crazy, action-packed, a bit emotional and spicy, everything you want in a Fantasy Romance! Gena Showalter did such a good job with this book, and I enjoyed getting to know Viori and Micah. Viori is really special, in my opinion. She can create ‘monsters’ out of nature, how cool and special is that?! Micah is a chimera, he has two powers that clash with each other. At the beginning I didn’t really know what to think of the characters, but the more I read about them, the more I started to like them. I really enjoyed the slow start of Viori and Micah’s relationship, and I’m happy that they got their happy ending. The world Gena Showalter has created for her Immortal Enemies series is so interesting, and her characters are a bit crazy but hard to resist. I liked reading about Chantal and Kaysar again from Heartless, and I loved the happy ending Viori and Micah got. I do wish there was an extra happy ending chapter or that the last chapter was a bit longer. I highly recommend the Immortal Enemies series if you’re looking for fantasy, romance and crazy characters!

  • Dark, sexy and bloodthirsty!!!

Ruthless, the 2nd book in the Immortal enemies book by Gena Showalter was just as fun, sexy and bloodthirsty as the first one! The series is a dark paranormal world that Gena has written about that is definitely ruthless. The story is about Micah, and Kaysar's sister, Viori. We see both of them during their horrifying childhoods, and how they somehow flittered in and out of each others lives. Micah who has been slaying monsters that Viori has been creating, can they both deal with the betrayals and come together before they rip each other apart? Definitely not your sugary sweet HEA book, but that's what I loved about it
