    Powerful and Riviting

Some days draw lines through our lives. Salvage the Bones is at once the story of one of these days, and the larger story of what it can mean to be poor and black and female in the deep south. Told with equal parts passion and compassion, this story kept me engaged to the very end.

    Excellent!

Breathtaking, intense, superbly crafted. Jesmyn Ward is a true artist. Absolutely one of the best books I have ever read.

    Salvage the Bones

This was a powerful book that stayed me with as I was reading it and beyond. The people and places become real, and though it's a difficult story, I cared deeply about them. A must read.
