  • The beginning

I'm so happy to have Savage's story begin. He has made one of the biggest impressions for a side character in several series from this author. He has such a huge personality that you can't help but want to know more about him. Savage is one of those men who exasperate you so much that you end up loving him because of it. He manages to joke around at the most inappropriate times, bringing levity when things get too serious. That has endeared him to many in this fictional world, and with the readers. As much of an inappropriate jokester he can be, he is also a very deadly enemy. His thirst for violence sits just below the surface. He's a good guy who will go to great lengths to help anyone in danger. It's quite the combination in a man. I have been so curious about his past. I know he has loved before and still pines, but never knew what happened. We finally get to meet the woman who has made such an impression on Savage. I was surprised to find out the was the reason they are no longer together. I'm looking forward to learning more about Candace and what makes her special to Savage. She has already shown that she is no fool and is just as honorable as Savage is. She loves him just as fiercely as he loves her but they have a lot to work through.

  • This is going to be an epic trilogy!

Oh Ms. Jones! You have yet again grabbed me by the proverbial hand and pulled me into a fantastic world you have created! A world of intrigue, mystery and hella amount of heat! Rick Savage, a character I have held a flame for since being introduced in past books, has his own series and it starts off amazingly! A past that he has tried to stay clear of and a woman who has haunted him for years call him home.  I love the growly, possessive side of Savage, I also love to see his vulnerability and his heart! You can understand his reasoning for leaving when he did but I also wanted to shake him and say "WHY?!?"  I love his humor and his witty comebacks and his non-sensical sayings! Candance is a bit of an enigma so far.  With this first story in the trilogy, we meet her fully and see how Savage has left her heartbroken and a changed woman.  She is fierce in her loyalty to the ones that she loves and she will do anything and everything to help them. As always, Ms. Jones is the queen of cliffhangers and this story is no exception, she will leave the readers gasping and asking when is the next story coming!

  • Salivating over Savage.

Finally, after much teasing hints and moments of clarity, we have the start of Rick Savage’s story. It’s filled with tension and darkness we’ve come to expect from Savage, but he’s got a sense of humor which he readily displays at times. He’s got a past that’s always haunted him. Candace is the woman that Rick left behind eight years ago. He’s never forgotten her or forgiven himself for letting her go. Candace did as Rick asked her to do. She moved on with her life and now she’s engaged to a politician, known as Honest Gabe, but is this man all that he appears to be. When Savage crashes back into Candace’s world, he knew he’d fight to win her back. But, with secrets and lies between them and the people surrounding them, can he? Does Candace even want him to? She’s a strong woman and isn’t going to just fall into his arms, plus, she has a fiance now. Savage Hunter is the first book in this trilogy and as with most of Lisa’s stories, it finishes with a cliffhanger, hopefully, we won’t have too long a wait for part 2.

  • Review: Savage Trilogy 1: Savage Hunger

Savage Hunger by Lisa Renee Jones is the first book in her brand new Savage Trilogy. Told in dual POV between Rick and Candace, this story builds the backstory of Rick and Candace, the earlier years and provides details on his past with his own father and hers. The back and forth between these two is hot. It's a second chance for them both but there is so much history that it is hard for Candace to see past the pain he caused back then by leaving, and hard for Rick to make himself okay with being back in her life. He left to protect her and he has since learned that she may have been safer all along if he had stuck around and that's a painful pill for him to swallow. Ending on a cliff-hanger this story is building up to be a doozy of intrigue and underhandedness and betrayal along with the wicked chemistry between these two main characters. Enjoy!
