A gem of a historical ghost story with romance!

After divorcing her abusive husband three years ago, Chloe vows to never let him control her, no matter what. She starts her own horse stables and with the help of her horse trainer, is on the brink of making a profit. But all that changes when her barn burns to the ground. Rumors start flying that she started the fire and she escapes for Virginia Beach to get away from it all. But when strange things start happening in her rented bungalow, she seeks the help of local historian, Jackson Hahn. Is the past repeating itself or can a legendary ghost save Chloe from making the same mistakes she did? I’m a big fan of historical ghost stories and Wynne has a gem on her hands with Saving Grace. I loved everything about Chloe, from her love of horses to her independent spirit. The alternating POVs were a great way to tell the parallel stories of Chloe and Grace although the transitions were a hair jarring at first. While this is a short novella, Wynne weaves a fleshed-out story filled with intriguing characters, romance, suspense and a ghost story. A must read, especially if you love history. Favorite Character/Quote: Grace. The sections telling Grace’s story were the best parts for me. I loved how strong she was and how she battled prejudice in her village. No matter what happened to her, she held her head high. My Rating: 4.5 stars
