    Great return to the ice

I love the Alaska Blizzard series, and this is just a great addition to that. It is, however, just as good as a standalone; Kat Mizera gives enough information on other characters to inform new readers but not too much that might alienate existing fans. There are some absolute gems in this book – both in terms of “characters” and in dialogue, and Merlin is a highlight. The blurb has the essentials on the story, but I felt that Aaron was particularly well written. The reader has insight into his dilemma over Sara, his friendship with her, his relationship with her, and his (misguided) attempt to let her follow her dreams. There is hope, there is intense sorrow, there is joy – this is a brilliant return to the ice. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

I adored everything about this book

I adored everything about this book and I highly recommend it to all Friends to Lovers as well as lovers of Sports Romance. This is book 5 in the Alaska Blizzard Series but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone, I know this because this is the first book in this series that I have read. Sara and Aaron are best friends and when an earthquake leaves Sara needing somewhere to stay and help getting around Aaron is the obvious choice but this couple have hidden their feelings for so long, covered them up with friendship what will happen when they end up living under the same roof... Will crossing the line ruin the wonderful friendship they share or will their feelings grow stronger ? this book captivated me, I loved the characters and I loved the story, it ticked all my boxes and I will certainly be looking at previous books in this series as soon as time permits.

Kat Mizera is on a winning streak with Saving Sara

Kat Mizera is on a winning streak with Saving Sara (Alaska Blizzard #5). This is hockey player Aaron Ferrar’s and Veterinary assistant Sara Chandler’s story. I was looking forward to their story. It was worth the wait. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. Kat Mizera continues to do a fabulous job with the series. She does a great job making you feel invested in the characters and the team. I love how Aaron and Sara grew throughout the story. They both did a lot of soul-searching and developed in a positive manner. I’m an animal lover, so I appreciate that Sara is a Vet Tech. I loved the various animals in this story, especially Merlin the Macaw. He had quite the interesting vocabulary. He added humor to the book. I really enjoyed the plot in this story. There were a lot of unique things that happened in this novel that kept it compelling. Saving Sara was the perfect addition to the Alaska Blizzard series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances or friends to lovers’ romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    Best friends to lovers

I love how this book started out and I hated it all at the same time. Aaron and Sara have been best friends for a few years. One night changes everything though and Aaron's actions make being friends difficult. Fast forward a few months and an earthquake changes things for these two even more. Sara needs a place to stay and Aaron wants his friend back and then more. I enjoyed getting to know these two and watching their love blossom. The storyline was good but it didn't always hold my interest. I loved Sara and her strength. She definitely was the "adult" in the relationship. I had mixed feelings about Aaron though. He was great when it came to his love for Sara, yet he was stupid at the same time. Personally if I had been Sara I would have made him grovel more. This is actually the first book in this series that I have read and I liked it overall. I think the supporting characters really helped and I love how the author tied two series together, it was like revisiting old friends. Looking forward to more in this series. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review."

Mizera plays the heart strings ...

Emotional hurdles, unrequited love, heated attraction, friendships and heartbreak are waiting on the horizon. Saving Sara has so much going on, but is surprisingly well put together. Mizera plays the heart strings with a romance interrupted. Aaron and Sara have a friendship that can survive anything. Or so they thought. From revisiting old friends to discovering new ones, Mizera proves that a heart can take a beating and still manage to find true happiness waiting on the other side.
