  • Smart, Affecting, Intense & Spectacularly Sexy

4 Stars | Hot Steam Having absolutely adored Forever Your Earl—like one breath away from constructing a shrine in its honor, loved—I couldn’t get my hands on Scandal Takes the Stage fast enough. And, I’ll admit, at first, I was disappointed. I just wasn’t feeling the same instant zing of excitement that I’d experienced when reading Eleanor and Daniel’s fast-paced, witty and wonderful adventure. So, I let go of my expectations, welcomed a different kind of journey for Maggie and Cam, and, swiftly and blissfully, their quieter and stirring journey enveloped me completely just liked I’d hoped it would. Smart, affecting, intense and spectacularly sexy, this beautiful couple’s love affair completely swept me off my feet. Scorned, suspicious and stubborn, Maggie is a tough but likable heroine. She spends a good part of the novel frustrated, uninspired, unable to write or shake the persistent presence of the dashing and devilish Viscount Marwood. It was as much of a relief to me as it was to her when she finally started to loosen up and slowly allowed kindness into her bruised heart. Her sweet softening inspires fresh creativity, her passion and libido reignites, and then the story truly began to soar and sizzle! Oh my goodness, her time away from London at Cam’s estate couldn’t have been more fun, romantic or SEXY! (*Still fanning self*) Maggie’s no bashful virgin. She is a seasoned and extremely sensual woman who knows exactly what she wants, and Cam wants nothing more than to deliver and devour and deliver again and again. Such heaven! Cam is a captivating and lust-worthy hero—insanely charming, handsome and entirely consumed with desire, respect, admiration and even a little envy for Maggie. She is a complete rock star in his eyes— her talent, mind and whole artistic world calls to him—enlivening his very soul. He feels things with her he’s never felt before. He sees her and appreciates her like no one else ever will. And, he discovers that he needs her for the rest of his life. Lucky for him, she loves him right back—so fiercely and desperately that you can’t help but believe it and swoon hard! By the end, feeling the high that only a great romance can give, I was scolding myself for ever doubting this novel in the first place. I love this series so much, and its sensational author, Eva Leigh, and can’t wait until Temptations of a Wallflower releases this spring! Sarah and Jeremy’s story will, no doubt, rock my world! • Following your dreams can be rewarding.

I am really enjoying reading stories where the female characters are just as central to the canvas as the male ones. Within Scandal Takes the Stage, Eva Leigh constructed a character that is focused, brave and heroic. Maggie has her eye on the prize and will not be distracted by any one or anything. Cam's fascination with Maggie becomes an obsession. He sees there is something special about her. I don't want to give away the story. What I will say is that being true to the heart is what I took away from this. The value of following your dreams can be rewarding.
