  • Excellent

I'd read the whole "School of Fish" series earlier this year, and reread it in prep for this one. Book 6 admirably takes up the mantle of the previous series. A gripping crime drama interleaved with Jackson and Ellery continuing to learn how to live with and love each other. I was riveted. Jackson and Ellery continue to grow as people, and the supporting cast is fantastic. If I had a quibble, there were two side characters that I was hoping to learn more about, and they broke up! And you don't really find out why. Maybe AL will address that in a separate story, one can hope. Anyway, the whole series is highly recommended, if you like crime thrillers AND quirky complicated men falling for each other. I certainly do.

  • Loved it!

This is one of those books that you pick up and don't want to put down. I was checking my progress against the clock and finally had to concede that I wasn't going to be able to read it all in one night, much as I wanted to. I loved being back in Jackson's and Ellery's world. Even better is the shared universe that allows all the crossover characters from other series to factor in. Don't worry if you haven't read those series; you get the key details and won't be confused. It was so lovely to see Jackson and Ellery's relationship to continue to grow and mature and for the shoe to be on the other foot for Jackson. You get a lot of what you would expect in this series - action, strong characters and relationships, some lovin', and of course, snark. Overall, one of my favorites in the series. Highly recommend!

  • Doesn't Get Much Better Than This

Every book I read of Amy's, and yes I have been reading her books a long time, I keep thinking I couldn't love the characters better and enjoy the story more. Then she does it again. Jackson, Ellery, their family and friends keep encompassing other groups of Amy's. With this one we now have the Fish crew, the Victoriana group and Johnnie's. They all fit. Throw in the Mob, child trafficking, murder and mayhem and you get A School of Fish. I am looking forward to seeing what they will be getting up to next.
