He had me at his dislike of NY

I was putty in his hands as soon as he voiced objection to that northern NY team. That this one is set in the baseball off season in Texas only added to the allure. While not usually a fan of multi viewpoint reads, I did enjoy Matt's perspective in this one. And Kelsey with her trust issues-- thanks to her musician exes! A fun read with a of naughty, on the phone and otherwise, and the kind of talk you'd expect from a pro athlete. They know what they want and aren't shy about getting it. And if you're gonna dream worth when talking contracts, then by all means, dream big or go home. A fun read from a male writer. not what one expects from a former college player. Who knew! Sexy and fun

Scored is witty, fun, and off the charts sexy. If you're looking for a deeper meaning and lots of hearts and flowers, you won't find it here. What you will find, is an engaging and steamy tale that is loaded with snark and low on angst. Kelsey comes across as a bit wishy-washy at first as she tries to decide whether or not to give Matt a chance, but there's no denying the humor of her inner dialogue and her sarcastic wit kept her in my good graces. Matt is an all-around good guy and our snarky heroine certainly keeps him on his toes, but he takes it in stride and holds his own quite well with the chuckle worthy banter throughout this romance. While I hesitate to call this a sports romance since we don't really get any game play, Matt is a baseball player and has a tough decision to make - one that could have a huge impact on a relationship with the hesitant Kelsey. The angst of that decision is relatively low and the story primarily focuses on the pair getting to know each other, both in and out of the bedroom. Overall, Howell has given us an amusing and often quite humorous romance with lots of fan yourself sexy and some fantastic banter and wit between characters. And I have to add that the epilogue was pretty darn perfect.

    Sweet, Sexy & Swoon Worthy!

This is the second Sloane Howell Book I have read and I am totally now a forever fan. Readers who love romance, enjoy witty banter, with melt your heart, down to earth men, will fall in love with Scored! The chemistry between these two, leaps off the page right at you.
Matt Stallworth and Kelsey Martin’s coming together was fantastic. I loved their connection, their sparing, their attraction and his pursuit of Kelsey. I was expecting this player of a man, but he was sweet, down to earth, totally taken by Kelsey and romantic. He is definitely my new book boyfriend. This book delivered on all the feels, and left me with a smile on my face! Don’t miss this one! Loved it! Totally Recommend to read!

    The best yet!

I really enjoyed the Bossed when I read it, and was intrigued by Kelsey and Matt. But Scored hit it out of the ball park. Matt was such a sweet, good guy. He made a ton of money doing what he did, and had to make a decision that could easily set him and future generations of his family up for life. His decision wasn't easy, and his feelings for Kelsey made it even harder to decide. Kelsey thought she had Matt pegged when she met him, and I loved watching her realize there was so much more to him that just being a dumb jock. I loved the dates Matt took her on and the thought he put into everything for her. I loved their banter, and the way they both got along with their friends. Twilight was hilarious and Ethan and Jenny were great, solid friends anyone would be blessed to call their own. I love the humor this author uses. The characters always feel so real, their quirkiness something that always gets me laughing. He also has a way of infusing real emotion into his words. This is my favorite of all Howell's books so far, it was fantastic!

    Entertaining and witty!

**Advanced copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** After reading Bossed, the first in this series by Sloane Howell, I was anxious to get my hands on Scored. I was not disappointed! While this book is the second in the series, and reading the first will help with some backstory, it wouldn't be absolutely necessary to still enjoy this book. Matt Stallworth is a professional baseball player and while he's definitely an alpha male, he's a little bit different than what we normally see and that was refreshing. He is more down-to-earth, humble, is very into charitable causes and he's unselfish. And, he's had his eyes on Kelsey for some time now. Kelsey Martin is the friend of Matt's best friend's fiance and that is how the two originally met. Kelsey is a quirky, snarky, music-loving record store employee who is very guarded when it comes to matters of the heart. She's been hurt in the past and the last thing she wants is to be put in that position again. When Matt and Kelsey finally get together, their chemistry is undeniable and they are a great match because Kelsey gives as good as she gets. Not to mention they burn up the sheets in the bedroom! Will the fact that Matt doesn't come clean about what is going on with him derail the fragile relationship they have forged? It took me a bit to get into this book for some reason. I think I had a bit of a tough time connecting with Kelsey at first, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed the story and I always enjoy Sloane Howell's writing so much. I enjoyed this entertaining and witty read.
