  • Loved it

5 Star Review Scoring Off The Ice (Ice Kings #2) by Stacey Lynn Stacey Lynn is a relatively new author to me. I loved the dynamic between Ice Kings, Mikah and Paisley. Mikah is laser focused on one thing and one thing only and that is hockey and achieving the goals that he has mapped out for himself. However, all it takes is one lapse, in this case, celebrating his birthday to have it all come crashing down around him. Suddenly finding yourself a father and having no idea how or what to do with said baby certainly created some intense and at times heartfelt and awkward situations for Mikah. He is lucky that his neighbour Paisley is willing to help him out. As he stumbles through becoming a father, with Paisley's help, he learns that there is more to life than hockey. It was gratifying and heart warming to watch the relationship develop between Mikah and Paisley. Oh and don’t get me started on how my heart just about melted with Mikah and his baby’s interactions; totally swoon worthy. The chemistry sizzled between them and Ms. Lynn packed a lot into this entertaining story. There was heat, humour and drama which only added to my enjoyment as you cannot help but become invested in their story.

  • Swoon!!

I became a Ice Knights fan after book one in this series. Mikah is the absolute sweetest. He's all the swoon. I loved his quiet intensity and gentle nature. I seriously can't handle how in love with him I am. Paisley is amazing. I loved how she jumped in with both feet to help a stranger and how she completed Mikah and Angelo's new little family. This whole book made me full of happy sighs. It's light and hopeful. I kind of wanted a little more angst but I still enjoyed this book so much. I can't wait to have more Ice Knights in my life. They might just be my new favorite hockey team!!

  • lights the lamp

Stacey Lynn lights the lamp with Scoring Off the Ice (Ice Kings #2). In this story, hockey player Mikah Lutzgo has a son he didn’t know about left on his doorstep. He gets much-needed help from his neighbor, Paisley. This novel takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is suitable for adult readers. Scoring Off the Ice is a sweet and heartfelt story. Paisley and Mikah are both young and have admired each other from afar, until Paisley finds a crying baby left in front of his door across the hallway. They get to know each other as Paisley helps Mikah with his infant son, Angelo. They are both likeable characters. Paisley is studying to become a teacher and is great with kids. She comes from a loving family. Mikah on the other hand, left Denmark and moved to America at a young age. He did not have the best relationship with his parents. His family are his teammates. I like how Paisley and Mikah both grow throughout the novel. Stacey Lynn does a fantastic job with this story. It is skillfully written and hard to put down. The characters have interesting challenges and controversies to face. I like that the Taylor brother’s and Kate from Playing to Win (Ice Kings, #1) played a role in this story. I also appreciated the Rough Riders series tie in. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

  • Fun and Steamy read

This was a fun read that brought two neighbors together that were attracted to one another but never acted on it until one night, one night when Paisley hears a cry out in the hallway and goes to see what it's all about and discovers a baby left in front of hot neighbors door. Mikah and Paisley have great chemistry and work well together on figuring out what to do with the new bundle that has been dropped into their lives. Yes I know Mikah is the father and Paisley isn't the mom BUT she steps in and helps because he is so lost on what to do and she is a natural. I really enjoyed how they worked together and how their relationship grew naturally it wasn't forced or pushed, they had an attraction before they even had spoken to one another and it progressed nicely. I always enjoy Stacey Lynn's books especially the more emotional ones, while this one was tugging at my heart at times it didn't come close to the way her FIRESIDE series gutted me. I would say this is a cross between her FIRESIDE series and her CRAZY LOVE series. So if you are looking for a Contemporary Sports Romances with some feels this is the one for you. Happy Reading!!! **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**

  • Enjoyed this 4 1/2*

Paisley and Mikah are both sweet characters and they are very well matched. Their story is hilarious, multiple laugh out loud moments provided me with some much needed comic relief. His teammates are a great supportive family. The baby mother's drama, though expected, it seemed to play out in an odd way. Pulled a late nighter with this one, just couldn't stop until the end. Looking forward to reading more about the other single Ice King players. I received a free copy of this audiobook via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. The male narrator was 5* super sexy voice and the female narrator was 4*.
