    A sweet holiday read

By Donna MacMeans Edith MacPherson, Mother of the Whiskey Laird and widow, had stayed at Castle Ravenwood until her son and daughter in law have come back from their honeymoon. She happily welcomes them home, but now feels useless as Claire (her daughter in law) now takes over the duties of mistress of the castle. Even Christmas just isn't the same because the Scots don't celebrate Christmas at least not like they do in London, her home. Then one night her son brings home an injured stranger and she's shocked to find out he is not really a stranger at all, but someone from her past and turns her sad world upside down. He presents her a Christmas she'll never forget. Can these two people find happiness after so many years? Donna MacMeans writes a sweet short story that will not only get you in the mood for Christmas it will make you feel like you have an after glow. I could envision everything I was reading and felt like I traveled back in time to be there with them. I would recommend this wonderful short story to anyone looking for a nice Christmas novella. Note: This is a short story in part of the Rake Patrol Series. While this story can be read on it's own, it's best enjoyed after reading, The Whiskey Laird's Bed, the romance of Claire Starke, a temperance zealot, and Cameron MacPherson a Scotch distiller.
