    fun & exciting

What a vivid and exciting novel! Spear enters the secret world of wolf shifters in a manner that allowed me to really picture it. The action and suspense was thrilling. The chemistry sizzled off the page. The plot was intricately woven to create a whole that really drew me in. At the same time, the characters were so vividly real. I love how I can really picture it all happening next door without ever having known about it. This makes it all the more real. The characters in this novel were fantastic. I had so much fun getting back with Spear’s wolf pack. Allan’s alpha persona drew me in but his caring, nurturing nature had me falling head over heels for him. Debbie’s attitude and ability to stand on her own makes her the perfect match for Allan, even if they don’t always see eye to eye. And personally, I can’t wait to find out what happens next with our resident homicide detective. He’s got my attention sparked. Once again Spear had created a wolfish novel that really held my attention. It was fun, exciting, and a great read on its own or as part of the series. Overall story not what I expected

2.5 Stars Allan Rappaport is a Navy SEAL, an expert diver and a wolf shifter, not that that's a problem because his diving partner is also a wolf but when his partner is out of commission due to a serious injury and Allan gets assigned a human as a diving partner, things get really interesting. As much as he's attracted to his new partner, he can't get involved with her because of the secret he's keeping. Debbie Renaud is a skilled diver and beautiful woman who's clearly attracted to her new partner and willing to take things to the next level, but in spite of his interest he is reluctant to follow through. But when she gets hurt during an investigation and becomes privy to Allan's secret, her life chances irrevocably. The blurb of this book has everything that I love in my books - law enforcement, suspense and paranormal elements - and I was so excited to read it. It was a little bit different from what I'm used to but I really wanted to see how Debbie and Allan would navigate the complications their getting involved would cause so even though the pace was slower than I anticipated and it took a while, I kept at it. I have mixed feelings about this book and it's taken me almost as long to write this review as it took to read it. This is the first book ever with a 2.5 star rating from me and here is why. First, fifty percent into the book, I was still waiting for things to pick up between Debbie and Allan on the romantic front as well as in the hunt for the bad guy. Second and this is a biggie: there was no chemistry between them! They had a good working relationship and even a passable friendship but there was no passion between them and the jump into a sexual relationship was poorly executed. Third, for a pack beta Allan was way too passive and the interfering pack members got on my last nerve. Finally, I felt more like I was being told the story instead of experiencing it for myself. If you are a die-hard fan of shifter books, you may want to check out SEAL WOLF IN TOO DEEP, but if you are in search of a fast-paced, passionate and exciting read then I suggest that you pass on this. This author is new to me and at some point I'll check out more of her books and hope for the best. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Hot SEAL wolves, and role playing werewolf hunters

This is just another example of Terry Spear's talent. Allen and Debbie are dive partners working for the police. Problem is: Allen is a Seal Wolf and Debbie is a human. Allen keeps falling for her but he can't keep her because she isn't wolf. Now we have 2 wolves murdered, cars following other wolves, and 3 dead real wolves. What the heck is going on. Now we find out that there is a group of humans that are play acting as werewolves and werewolf hunters. Do they have anything to do with what's going on? Then Debbie is shot trying to take down one of the bad guys. Allen gets her heart going and load her in the ambulance but didn't know that her heart stopped again. Does she survive the injury? Are the bad guys going to keep coming? You really have to read this story. It's awesome and there is always something going on. Terry Spear has done it again. Read it and read her other series as well. Great book.
