  • Forgiveness and Moving on

This is a book about forgiveness and moving on with your life. I think one of the hardest things to forgive, other than perhaps a crime against a person, would be someone leaving you at the altar! If you aren't feeling like it's the right time for you to marry someone, then tell them. No matter what the reason is, even if you don't want to TELL them the reason, at least do them the courtesy of telling them before the wedding day! However, in this story, Jillian didn't tell Sam and let him stand at the altar 8 years ago ready to get married but she never showed. Sam has been devastated and confused for 8 long years. Suddenly, she comes back to their hometown to help out with her mother and Sam has to deal with her presence all over again. The hard part is that Jillian is still kind and sweet and apparently wants to get back together! How can Sam forgive her? He's a youth pastor and should rely on God to help him do this but he's still human! Jillian knows she hurt Sam deeply but will he forgive her when she can hardly forgive herself? I appreciated the two characters working through this issue and their thoughts on the subject. It wasn't easy and the author didn't make it so. A good story! The only issue I had is that I'm tired of men and women letting their parents have so much power over their decisions and actions when they are 30 yrs. old! Let these "adult children" make choices!

    Thanks for your feedback!
