  • This beast is roaringly seductive

Who is panting for a dark, dark retelling of the Beauty and the Beast? Here it is on a silver platter served with hot revenge and scorching lust. Believe me, you're not ready for this... Leo Morelli is a bully who has no qualms in submitting Haley Constantine to all kinds of dirty, twisted games. His beauty is as evil as his plans for retaliation. The secret reasons for these machinations are mind-blowing. I loved the circumstances that led Haley to the beast's trap, so devious and exciting. He is capable of tormenting the damsel in distress without touching her in a tremendously intense scene that is cleverly crafted. Even though it is a bacchanal of debauchery, the subplot of revenge is riveting. There's never been such an immoral, depraved version of this tale. When he does touch her, though, it's a frenzy of cruel degradation. It will delight readers of dark romance no doubt. Clearly, a sadist and a masochist have matched. To me, it was perhaps a trifle too fast how she found pleasure right away in the hands of a stranger who humiliates and hurts her so thoroughly. The atmosphere is charged with intimidating threat thanks to the emotional narrative, aided by the occasional male POV. Leo's inner dialogue is a rare treasure. The characters harbour unwanted, hidden desires whenever they meet in this beastly mansion. She is an innocent crashing against a master in erotic pain. While I disliked the excess of humiliation of women in the story, I did enjoy some subtle beauty in several scenes when the characters really connect. Sometimes it's about books or ordinary life, sometimes it's over a tragedy. So I enjoyed the writing, the menace, the intensity of Leo Morelli's character, the creative parallelism with the Beauty and the Beast story, and that powerful cliffhanger. However, I didn't agree with Caroline Constantine's role in this instance or the harsh treatment of the heroine.

  • sensual, dramatic and action packed.

Amelia Wilde took me deep inside the heart of a twisted alpha and a imperfect yet brilliant heroine in Secret Beast. This story was a minefield of complex emotions, dramatic power plays and all consuming passion. ( I reviewed an early copy voluntarily)

  • Just whoa!!!

All I can say is whoa! This world these authors have created is so absolutely amazing that I feel like I live in it. The war between the Constantine's and Morelli's just keeps getting more and more interesting. Leo is just wow, the things you learn about him might change everything. Haley is lovely and might be just want Leo needs. That's it, that's all I want to say about this book because all you need to know is that you need to go read this right now! This trilogy is just going to keep getting better and Wilde has made me love a beast!

  • Wow, loved it so much, more please

Haley is a Constantine, although only just with the way the rest of the family treats them, but even she knows that she should never get involved with their family nemesis a Morelli. Her father is an absent minded inventor (that has been a bit of a shame to the rest of the Constantine family), and he has seemed to make a deal with a Morelli (Leo), one of the worst one of them too. Can Haley convince Leo to let her father out of the deal? What will the cost be to her? I loved getting to know both Haley and Leo, their steamy chemistry (which can be dark at times), and a bit of the complicated history of their families, I really need to know what happens next. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.

  • Pure Sinful Lusciousness

Oh, this book was pure sinful lusciousness. If you haven't immersed yourself in the Midnight Dynasty world and are a fan of dark romance, I don't know what you are waiting for because each new entry in into it only solidifies how hot, enticing and addicting it is. This book starts a new trilogy set in this compelling world and focuses on Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine. If you are unaware The Morelli and The Constantine family are enemies. Things get very intense as these two complex characters are drawn together. You can expect plenty of tension, sparks and steam. This story has a Beauty & The Beast feel to it and I have to say that Leo fits into The Beast role perfectly. Hate to love or love to hate him, he's going to get into your head and have emotions spinning. Haley was extremely likable and easy to feel for. As this is only book one you are going to get hit with a cliffhanger, so try to prepare yourself for that. While I think you could jump in and just read this trilogy, I highly recommend that you indulge yourself and read all the books in this world. There are many players and multiple games being played. With each new entry the world grows bigger, you learn some answers you have been looking for and discover more questions that will keep you in a constant state of wanton craving. This is my independent, impartial review.
