Enjoyable romance with elements of danger

A Secret Crush opens the curtains on the saga of the House of Morgan, a dysfunction family at best. When the despicable Mitch Morgan dies, Alice attends the funeral in the hope of speaking to the heirs regarding her own family legacy and to save her family's orange orchard. She comes face to face with her old youthful crush and the sparks fly between her and John Morgan, her best friend's brother. There are secrets, lies and misunderstandings, added to which danger encroaches and their relationship put to the test. As Alice discovers more about the Morgan heirs, she realises that she has to adjust her perspective regarding them. An enjoyable romance with an element of danger. Having read a number of the other books in this series, I was glad to be able to see where it all began. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

    Wonderful

Loved the story. How does a billionaire become a detective, just to prove his father is guilty. Of course he meets a beautiful girl and complicates everything. Great style, easy reading

    Good Suspense

There are secrets, suspense, and romance in this well-written story by Victoria Pinder. There's even a farmer's daughter, Alice, who has always had a crush on John, but never thought she was worthy of him. After John's father's death, he returns home and rediscovers Alice. But it's the suspense that kept me reading, too. You will enjoy the suspense and the unexpected in this first book in the series. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

    Secret Crush

This was the first in a standalone series that I will be reading all of them! Thank you Victoria Pinder! The story line is as old as time but told in an absolutely new way. We have the death of a main character that In turn set in motion a way for three sibling to start to know each other and what brought them to this terrible time and place. The author did it with love grace and sheer force I can't wait for the next! It kept you guessing until the very end of the book to figure the plot out. Thank you.

A three-star review on Secret Crush

I received this book as part of Happily Ever Alpha Anthology John has always despised his father and his lack of integrity. He thinks his father killed her sister. To destroy his father and his red of associates and their dirtiness, he becomes a BFI agent. However, death gets in the middle and takes away his father’s life forcing him to go home and face his demons. Alice is a farmer’s daughter and the whole family relies on a contract with the Morgans. She doesn’t like the Morgans at all and she thinks, like everybody else, that all of them are the same. I really like this series with its twists and turns, the mystery and love, but the execution lacks. The dialogues between John and Alice are very poor and repetitive. There are several gaps in the story as well, for example, John was always saying that the Morgans’ security was the best, but that’s not true at least two times it failed to work. There are several inconsistencies within the story, for example, about Alice’s condo in chapters 19, 21 and 23.
