    Thanks for your feedback!

I devoured this book in less than two days. This was a beautiful story with more than one heartbreaking theme. First, we are face with an Indian mother's sacrifice for the love of her newborn daughter and her family's struggle to make a living in modern day India. Then, we learn of her daughter's adoption and subsequent search for her birth parents and identity as she grows. We also experience the cultural differences between an American wife and mother and her Indian husband and adopted daughter. This was a really great story that touches on a lot of important issues. Beautifully told and great characters. I highly recommend!

Fantastic book. Very well written. Kept me turning the pages until far past my bedtime! An engrossing story about two families and the impact of one adoption on them both. The author explores both the adopting American family and their attempt to deal with the fear of losing their daughter to the family she never knew and the family (particularly the mother) who had to give up her child unwillingly.

Heart wrenching and very sensitive. Two mothers on opposite ends of the world struggling with insecurities and hardships that are inherent to motherhood and womanhood across the globe.

A wonderful tale of how far a mother will go to protect her child, especially at daughter, in a culture that doesn't value females. A redemptive story of lives lost and found. Excellent

Though not a book I would normally choose to read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a completely different culture to what I know and understand, but I felt I broadened my world knowledge from it, and that women share a lot of the same joy and pain no matter what part of the world we live in.
