  • Charming, sweet and fun

This was just a delight! I loved every moment of reading this, and if you like the Regency era, and spunky, underdog heroines, you might love this book too! Hannah is a terrific main character! I liked pretty much everything about her. She has moments of giving in to despair, but given her life situation and the stupidity of British society of the time, that's understandable so I didn't hold it against her. When the times came, Hannah stood up, for herself and for others, and I loved her for that! The rest of the girls, I mostly liked, although they had moments of annoying me. To be fair, though, that's who and what young ladies of the era were like, and at the end of the day all of them had good hearts and did the right thing. David and Asheram I absolutely adored! They made a formidable team, and their interactions made me laugh. The requisite romance between Hannah and David was sweet. Although you more or less know how things are going to work out, the author did a great job of putting obstacles in their path, some of which were unexpected and surprisingly exciting for a book of this type. I really thought the author's story was unusual and cleverly conceived and I very much enjoyed reading this. I would definitely read other books in this series. If you enjoy Regency and are looking for a fun, fast and easy read that will charm and entertain you, I recommend this.

  • Secrets ad Sensibities

Amazing how this story developed. All these characters who seemed not so important turned out together as a good investigator power. Enjoyed very much.

  • Didn't deliver what I wanted

This sounds like a better story than it actually is. It has so shallow take on everything that I didn't find it engaging. The instalove got boring quickly and the little mystery twist was pretty obvious. In addition, I wasn't sure about the time period in the beginning because everything sounded too modern for regency but I guess this is supposed to be a regency novel.

  • Looking for more...

This was a lovely story with interesting characters, an ancient house replete with secret passages, a two faced villain, and enough twists to keep things stirred up. I enjoyed it very much. I’m looking for more.

  • Secrets will out

Lovely tale. The characters were well drawn with a heroine who finally understood about love, a villain hoping to snare the unwary and several young misses trying their wings. I’m sure everyone will enjoy this book.
