    Thanks for your feedback!

    Three fascinating and inspirational memoirs.

This book is actually a set of 3 books by three different authors. What they have in common is that each is a memoir describing how a not-so-youthful woman was forced to reinvent herself in the face of obstacles. Two of the books describe the process of going through the training to enter the path they have chosen (police officer or funeral director). The third book is about the process of discovering what path to choose. Each book describes how the author was forced to dig deep into herself and find new skills and strengths. Each author has stories of humour, sadness, and determination to overcome negativity thrown her way. Further, each of them describes a field of service that not too many of us are familiar with, and gives insight into the people encountered along the way. On the plus side, each of the authors has an interesting story that is told in her own voice. On the down side, like most memoirs these tend to be a bit rambling. Why 5 stars? My first thought was to give it 4 stars, but the inspirational spirit of each of these stories is worth an extra star.
