    Thanks for your feedback!

sizzling start to a new series!

This is the first of a 2 part story - no HEA of HFN at the end of this part, but definitely worth the read! Kate's on a one week trip to Paris, an artist who is trying to figure out whether going to school to continue developing her skills or getting a 'real' job as her parents would say is the way to go. She plans to see the sights and tour all the famous museums, hoping that her time away from home will give her the answers she's looking for. When she meets Rylan in a coffee shop, a charming, sexy man who makes it clear that he'd like to make her time in Paris even more worthwhile, she's hard pressed to turn him down. As they share intimate moments together, it becomes clear to Kate that there is more to Rylan than he's telling her - and to Rylan that a week with Kate isn't going to be enough. But what will happen when Kate's time in Paris comes to a close? I really liked both of these characters. Kate comes across as a conflicted woman, torn with what to do for her future (hence her trip to Paris). She's also a bit innocent and naive -though not so naive as to fall for Rylan's obvious attempts to get her to sleep with him without being aware of the consequences of her decision. She figures that he's a playboy and that this is his thing, picking up lonely women and treating them to his off the map tour of the city (or at least his bed). But for once in her life, she's going to just enjoy herself, and this attractive and charming man looks like just the ticket for a good time. Rylan puts on the facade of the fly by night, give a girl a good time guy, but in truth there is a lot more depth to him than meets the eye. While it's true he's gotten into the habit of pursuing tourists for the sake of a few days of fun, it's just a means of passing the time. His life is in a shambles, decisions that need to be made to deal with the fallout of events that happened a year before just sitting and waiting for him. He's wealthy and bored and avoiding his past. But something about Kate, her willingness to see through his act and find the real man underneath makes her different than the other women. He delights in showing her the sensual side of Paris, and in showing her how good sex can be. But it doesn't take long before he realizes he wants more from her. To get more though, he'll have to give more - in fact, he'll have to come clean about who he really is if he wants to pursue a relationship. Lies and deceit haunt him and telling Kate the truth could be his end or his salvation. The sex scenes are super hot, but not only that, there is a lot of emotion to them as well. Sex is great, but won't sustain a relationship and even after their first time together Rylan realizes that Kate is different and special. After one week, when Kate is ready to go back home, Rylan isn't ready to give up everything they've already built. Only time will tell if they will be able to survive the truth of Rylan's past, and his new willingness to put his future back on track, hopefully with Kate in his life. 4 stars.
