I want a Luke of my own!

**4.5 Stars** Kendall Ryan's newest book includes two of my favorites, small towns and hot men. This book is a standalone and one that will have you loving it from page one. I loved everything about Sexy Stranger. I laughed out loud at the tension between the two main characters because it's so true of small towns and newbies. Everything about Luke and Charlotte was just what I needed. Luke is a born and breed small town man. He runs the family brewery with his twin brother Duke (hilarious right?) and sister. Once upon he was known for is football career in high school and college, but having moved on to whiskey brewing he knows when a new stranger comes to town. Will he let Charlotte and her city ways get in the way of knowing her or will he repeat his own history and fall in love with a city slicker? Charlotte is running away from her life of status and family money in NY to LA. What she wasn't prepared for was for her fancy car to break down in small Texas city and to run into the hottest man she's ever seen. Fleeing NY and not answering her phone has left her family crazy, but Charlotte doesn't care, she is determined to learn how to survive on her own. When she finds herself attracted to Luke her displacement during her car breakdown isn't so bad. Helping him with the whiskey brewing business marketing even gives her a purpose. But, will her past get in her way or will Luke let her just leave when it's time? I loved watching Luke and Charlotte get together. They gave into the attraction and eventually into each other. There were bumps in the road, but I loved watching them get over their differences and falling in love.

    A steamy and red-hot enemies-to-lovers romance lik

A steamy and red-hot enemies-to-lovers romance like I've never read before! Kendall Ryan brings us fire and sass in this all-new standalone romance. Sexy Stranger is completely entertaining, brimming with passion and desire. The chemisty between Luke and Charlotte was evident immediately. More bitterness and hostility at first, it was a joy to read how their feelings changed the more time they spent together. Even though they each had their apprehensions to start anything, their attraction was just too strong for either to deny what they really wanted. But with secrets still looming under the surface, you can't help but bite your nails with worry and uncertainty that a HEA might not happen. Sexy Stranger checks all the boxes for a must read romance. Passion, yearning, raw emotions, and a unique story line are just a small handful of what overflows from this book. Kendall's exceptional writing makes reader's feel thoroughly engaged in her stories from beginning to end. Like her previous books, Sexy Stranger is an un-put-downable book, and you will devour it in one sitting! An undoubted 5 star "get this book NOW" read!

A Fun & Easy Enemies to Lovers Romance

Sexy Stranger was a fun and easy enemies to lovers romance. It definitely had a Pride & Prejudice vibe, with the hero and heroine making judgments and assumptions about the other without getting to know each other first. This is a standalone romance and is told from the points of view of both the hero, Luke, and the heroine, Charlotte. Things start off a bit rocky when Charlotte and Luke first meet. There are lots of insults and barbs thrown and though there is an immediate attraction between the two, they both try desperately to bury those feelings. As things heat up (and boy do they heat up!), they both realize that they aren't quite as different as they seem to be. Will they be able to get past their emotional baggage filled pasts and insecurities though to find a happily ever after? I did feel that there was some unnecessary drama thanks to a lack of communication and stubbornness by our characters. I also thought the appearance of a certain character at the end felt rushed and sort of out of place. I understand why this character showed up and where Luke and Charlotte were coming from, but it just seemed silly and forced. I did really like the secondary characters in this book though, especially Luke's siblings, Duke and Molly. They were honest and loyal and added some great comic relief throughout the story. I also really liked Charlotte's best friend, Valentina. A love connection was hinted at at the end of the book, but it's unclear if any more will be written with any of these characters. Overall, this was a light and easy romance that fans of Kendall Ryan will definitely enjoy! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

    First impressions are everything ...

For Ms. Ryan, first impressions are everything. Within the first five minutes, she tempts, frustrates and grabs a readers attention. Sexy Stranger is no exception. Ironic that an author, who prides herself on first impressions, would create characters that don't make very good ones. At least on each other. In my opinion the heat was on and the battles lines were drawn. Charlie was an uptight city girl, Luke a misunderstood country boy, but pride was a trait both had in spades. She was a woman on the run, trying to prove to herself and those around her that she was more than just an armpiece. He was a man with big dreams and an abundance of old hurts. How is it that two people who make each other crazy, end up making perfect sense? Sexy Stranger is a smartly written story with attitude, heart and a seductive happily ever after that kept me invested throughout every chapter.
